Aqua Blu Resort - By Pickalbatros, Located in Safaga Road, Hurghada, only 4.3 mi from Hurghada Airport (approx. 15 min), 9.3 mi from the city center (approx. 20 min), only 601 m away from the sandy beach at Beach Albatros Resort (free shuttle busses to the beach available). +: Es gibt viele Pools, für groß und klein. Die Kinder kommen auf ihre Kosten. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es gibt zwar keinen direkten Strandzugang, aber mit dem Shuttle ist man innerhalb von 5 min am Strand eines anderen Hotels dergleichen Kette. Die Zimmer wurden täglich gereinigt und alle wünsche, soweit möglich, wurden erfüllt. Der Flughafen ist mit dem Auto innerhalb von 15-20 min erreichbar sowie andere Orte, wie die Sheraton street, der Hafen oder die Senzo Mall. Ein ganz großes Lob geht an Soad Khalaf. Sie hat das leckerste Brot und die leckerste Manakish (arabische Pizza) gebacken. Wir konnten nicht genug davon bekommen, was uns beim Essen sehr den Tag gerettet hat:-) Liegen findet man sowohl im Hotel als auch am Strand eigentlich immer. Und unterhalten wird man auch täglich.

-: Es gibt ein großes Buffet zum Frühstück, Mittag- und Abendessen. Leider fehlt da etwas der Geschmack. Außerdem ist man an Zeiten gebunden, was den Urlaub mit zwei kleinen Kindern etwas stressig gestaltet hat. Das ist jedoch meckern auf hohem Niveau ;-)

+: Exceptionally clean resort. Comfortable rooms with very good cleaning daily, no shortage of towels and clean linen. Good location, very near airport and easy to get to the city. Some members of staff were really good at their jobs and very kind to us, e.g., Mohammed Fadl at Columbus bar. Nice pool bar.

-: Unfortunately the negative outweighed the positive for us and we definitely will not return.Very poor check in experience. We were charged over an additional $700 ton check in because of an error in our booking. One of our guests was checked in as a child instead of an adult (she had turned 18 since we booked 5 months earlier). Our bad, but to charge us an extra $700 for a booking was would have cost an additional $100 if we had booked the day before, was too much we felt. It especially stung as we were repeatedly told that whether or not we would be charged extra for our mistake would depend on the opinion of the reservations manager and not any policy.We were not allocated rooms together - something that was a real priority for us (we are a large family with small children and this was something we requested when we booked 5 months earlier, again on check in and again on days 2 and 3).We were put on the second floor with no lift even though we requested the ground floor 3 times (prior to and after check in) as we had a small baby with us and having the pram in the room was a priority given it was so hot every day… having to leave the pram down two flights of steps and carrying the (sometimes sleeping) baby was really annoying. Equally it was a nuisance to have to constantly ask someone to help carry the pram into the room when we chose that option.We felt that even though we raised our concerns repeatedly, the staff were not interested in helping us and instead fobbed us off by telling us that they will look into it etc. We were never given an update on any of our concerns.We didn’t rate the food experience at all. We can’t understand how this property is so highly rated for food.All of these complaints were raised directly with management on days 1,2 and 3 of our stay and none were dealt with satisfactory.
