+: Fantastic location. Staff were incredible. The 3 pools and outdoor sun beds were amazing. Rooftop pool and bar were perfect in the day and evening for a sun set drink. Rooms and Beds Cocktails Evening entertainment and buffet were amazing , something different everyday. Highly recommend!!

+: The Syntopia exceeded all of our expectations – the hotel was just gorgeous, with all the details carefully curated. We absolutely loved the "overwater" sunbeds by the pool and the fantastic relaxed vibes. Our room was enormous and beautiful, and the staff were exceptionally kind. It's rare to hear such in depth and helpful description of the hotel facilities at check-in, the front desk team were all highly informative and kind. Their recommendations for Rethymno were also spot on! The breakfast was also one of the best I have ever had, even the simple things were seasoned to perfection and the choice was huge. It truly is a gem of a hotel and we will definitely be back!

+: De vormgeving van het hotel is zeer modern en rustig. We kwamen voor een rust vakantie en dat hebben we daar ook zeker gekregen. 3 zwembaden met ligbedden. Bediening aan de ligbedden door super vriendelijk personeel! We hadden all inclusive en het eten was ook zeer verzorgd en toegankelijk voor iedereen.
-: De Nomad bar (bar aan het grote zwembad) was iets trager in de bediening, echter is dit echt wel muggenziften over een klein puntje.

+: Das Hotel bietet viele Annehmlichkeiten und das Personal ist super hilfsbereit und sehr sehr freundlich. Uns hat besonders das tolle Frühstück gefallen und einige der Mitarbeitenden waren extrem lieb.
-: Für unseren Geschmack ist die Lage des Hotels nicht so schön, da dort wenig Natur in der Nähe ist. Außerdem hatten wir das Problem, dass im Oktober viele Mücken in unser Zimmer gekommen sind, da es leider keine Fliegennetze gab.

I would like to especially mention the staff who make every guest feel like a VIP, also the food that was very delicious and of high quality throughout all our stay (food assortment was huge), and of course, the design of the hotel. +: The aesthetics and cleanliness are second to none. The staff are great, with a couple of exceptions.
-: Months before we paid for our holiday, I checked whether as vegans, we would be well catered for with the all-inclusive package. After initially getting no reply, I followed up and was told that there are lots of vegan options on the buffet and not to worry. As we are very laid back, we made do, however the member of staff at the snack bar continuously lied about not having ingredients for the only vegan option and would then begrudgingly make the item for us. Because of this, we simply stopped asking.The buffet has some options, however, there were a lot of things that could have been left vegan but they then had last minute cheese, meat or seafood garnishing them. There is a meat and cheese bar always available should you wish to do this yourself.As all-inclusive guests, you are able to book a lunch basket to take out the next day with you, should you wish to explore the island. We booked ours, with our room number and dietary preference. The next morning we picked up our lunch basket and drove 2 hours to our destination. On opening the basket, the contents were: 2x bottles of water, 2x juice cartons, 2x pears, 2x apples, 2x brown sandwiches, 2x white sandwiches. The fruit was wrapped in cling wrap (?!) which really doesn't align with the ethical premise of Syntopia. The bread for the sandwiches was stale and dry and must have been what was out at breakfast. The filling of the sandwiches was simply one slice of Gouda - not vegan Gouda - and a 1 inch square piece of lettuce. Nothing else. We find it hard to believe that guests with no dietary preferences would be satisfied with this. We had to go and purchase lunch on top of the cost of our "All-inclusive" holiday. Whilst we were out for the day I contacted the hotel to ask about this, and they said it had been mixed up, with a smiley face emoji to follow.
