Tours and prices for holidays at the hotel Kairaba Mythos Hotel & Spa 5* 2024-2025 Greece, Corfu (island)

+: It was nice but unfortunately due to a flight being cancelled we arrived a day late, not the hotels fault but the staff didn’t really seem to be interested and I was surprised they couldn’t of given us a small discount for not being there a whole day, wasn’t expecting to not pay for it but maybe a discount in a restaurant or something, they were even offering upgraded rooms for a fee because the hotel was quiet so that could of also been an option..also had no luggage with us because it got lost on the cancelled flight so we weren’t in the best of moods during our stay, but the facilities were good, the view wasn’t quite as it described

+: Corfu itself is a beautiful island, but this hotel lets it down. It is located very close to the water with beautiful views but it is far from any busy area, you need a car to get to restaurants etc apart from the two that are walking distance from the hotel.

-: We moved rooms, the first room we got (we paid extra for the private pool), was terrible, the pool itself had old grotty tiles, we overlooked a bush and the maintenance area for all the private pools was attached to our pool and we were beside a walk way and cleaners cupboard. The upkeep of the room itself was poor, stained sofa, rusty shower, tired furniture and the floor didn't seem to be clean, a half used bar of soap was left in our shower and the towel rail fell off the wall. We moved rooms to a room that had a more modern pool, still no view like the pictures and the room was not much better, the drain on the bathroom floor liked to flood, we had a few cockroaches sharing with us and I never experienced bites like it, every morning waking up with more and more. We asked the hotel to spray the room, they said to go to the shop... we eventually moved hotels and didn't get one more bite for the rest of our stay in Corfu. I believe there was something in the bed. Breakfast was ok, lots of choice for cooked foods, the juices are terrible, cheap concentrate. We only ate once in the hotel for lunch and it was the worst meal we had all holiday, overpriced and bad quality. If you are not on all inclusive it is a rip off, we feel we paid far too much for the accommodation and it is definitely not 5tar. Everything is tired, the sunbeds are falling apart. Maybe the tour operators give very cheap prices as the reviews here seem very good... but from what we experienced it is overpriced, poor quality and not clean.

+: It was great to have a swimming pool, a small private beach and a couple hotel restaurants, as the hotel itself was quite far from civilization. The signature carrot cake definitely left an impression too, so did the staff who were all extremely kind (especially at all the restaurants and breakfast area). Only on the last night we found out that you (probably) don't need a booking to go to the rooftop bar for a drink - recommend to try it out as it has great views :)

-: Many loungers by the swimming pool were broken or very run down, and the breakfast food wasn't of great tastequality - there were many options, but especially eggs tasted very odd, regardless of whether it was poached, fried, or an omelette. Though people who prefer sweet breakfast will definitely find some options! Another thing to keep in mind if you don't have a car - there aren't any safe ways to walk to the town - the road is dark and narrow, so you're competing with cars. We had a car, but it still felt quite dangerous to drive around the island due to poor roads (obviously not the hotel's fault).

+: A large variety of choices for breakfast, everything is delicious, the staff very kind, friendly, working hard and fast.

-: Front desk- check-in process took 50 minutes, girl mixed up two rooms-two couples, her explanation was absurd (just showing she has trouble with reading), afterwards she was informed of the mistakes by us, started the process over and still had it incorrect, so she didn't fix anything. She used correction tape to fix it on our room card . In their system nothing was corrected, so on the 3rd day of our stay we have got a telephone call that we should have checked out 4 hours ago! After returning back to the hotel nervous what has she "fixed" she was rude and arrogant- she said she will fix it and call back which she never did. During check-out which was just leaving the card key to an other receptionist she commented rudely in Greek. If a five star hotel hires staff that has no basic upbringing and culture it doesn't look well. She was paid with cash, which she had trouble with counting and used a calculator (you know- it's hard to count a few euros in 100 banknotes). She walks around texting on her phone and gossiping about people which you can hear, because you are so close. I will skip the info that because she mixed up the check-in signing us up for a different room (our friends room!) she ruined our Sunday, didn't hear any "sorry" for that, our room wasn't celaned that day, we got our wet towels back from the bathroom's floor. It was our second time in Kairaba, any other complaints towards anything in two years time, but a frotn desk employee can't be a teenager who has an attitude and acts like a star which doesn't want to use her brains.
