+: Location-wise, you can’t find a better place. The staff at reception are helpful as much as they can - I was there during a challenging period of time, so I appreciate the support they offered at the time.
-: I have stayed in TSH in other locations (for example, Amsterdam) and was always pleased with the room and the service. However, Vienna was a disappointment. The room I was given was not the room I was supposed to get (and checking in had to be done manually by a staff member because my room ‘was not ready yet’ when I checked in at 11PM). The room did not look like the pictures - no chair, no shelves (instead, it was obvious the fixture had come off the wall because the plaster was showing). In other TSH locations, you receive water bottles in your room - none here! The bed was large but the mattress was not great, exceptionally squeaky every time you turned. Most importantly, cleanliness was lacking. There was a stain on the duvet, a dead cockroach (!) on the carpet and a dead fly on the windowsill. Did I raise these concerns? I did! The receptionist told me unfortunately they could not change my room (this was during the Taylor Swift concert drama) because they were booked, which I understand. I emailed their CS after my trip to raise the above issues, they said they would forward it to the hotel management. I did receive a response 2.5 weeks later saying “thanks for the feedback”, and that was the matter closed for them. It’s a shame because TSH as a concept and a brand is fantastic, the Vienna location is just a let down.
