+: The view from the window was the only thing I liked - the apartment had a weird smell that I couldn’t get rid of even after leaving the windows open, and the decor and overall feel of it was a downer.
-: Broken AC, huge issues with plug sockets which almost led to electrocution and didn’t allow me to charge my electronics, and worst of all - the host and their attitude towards the end.I had to check out 2 days early (and was refused a refund) because of faulty sockets and electricity issues in the apartment that wouldn’t allow me to charge my devices and caused safety concerns - this resulted in a lot of stress, missed Zoom meetings and additional costs + travel time.Basically, the sockets in the apartment (I tried every room incl. the kitchen) had some kind of an electricity issue and it was impossible to charge my phone and laptop (I used the adapter provided by the owner which worked completely fine when I used it a local restaurant and cafe so the adapter was not the issue). Inserting charger into a socket caused electricity to sparkle on TWO occasions, making me fear I’d get electrocuted, or that my devices would get damaged. The sockets would also make buzzing sounds or not charge my devices at all stop charging. In fact, my phone charger stopped working after I used it at the apartment and I had to travel to a nearby town to purchase a new one (extra time + money).Half way through my stay, the electricity completely went off in the morning and I had to go up and down the building to the electricity room to fix it. The owner was responsive throughout the stay UNTIL I told her I couldn’t stay at the property given the electricity issues. I, very politely, asked for the money back for the remaining days of the stay, given that charging your electronics is such a basic thing and should not be an issue, however she didn’t reply. I liaised with booking.com explaining what happened and they asked the owner to approve a refund which she refused saying (I’m quoting the booking.com advisor here) that “she has bills to pay” (as opposed to everyone else in this world, I suppose?).
