+: - Good value for money - all rooms we stayed in onsuite - within 200m of Spar supermarketloads of restaurants10min walk from the slopes - WiFi decent - the property arranged a transfer for $100 each way from Tblisi to Gudauri - linen and towels provided and clean. A change of towels provided midweek.
-: So we booked this place based on previous reviews which were really high due to the increased lengths the hosts went to for them last ski season i.e. daily transfers to and from the slopes and home cooked meals. Neither of these were available to us which resulted in us walking to and from the slopes daily and eating out everyday as cooking by one's self at the accommodation isn't really an option. When asked, the owners did say their transfer-to-the-slopes vehicle wasn't working and that if we wanted meals made it needed to be arranged long prior to our arrival at the accommodation, but we weren't notified of this prior to our arrival as we may have made alternate arrangements then. Overall, the place was adequate for our needs and for the price. It is also worth noting that the Booking.com listing doesn't explicitly say that they would offer food or lifts to the slopes, so one can't be too harsh on the rating and thus I think a pass of 610 is adequate. I think if this accommodation was to improve their rating though, then a well written welcome message to guests prior to arrival with what is available eg if they want food cooked as well, lifts to the slopes, local recommendations etc would go a long way to helping foreign guests and the property improving their future ratings. Also another thing to bear in mind is that this property asked us to pay in CASH. This was also an inconvenience as it was a large sum of money and as foreigners, there are daily withdrawal limits on our cards, so it wasn't as easy as a bank transfer or paying by card.
