Featured among the 65 Best New Hotels in Conde Nast Traveler's Hot List 2011, Kinsterna Hotel offers boutique accommodations with privileged views of the castle of Monemvasia and the endless blue of the Aegean.
Set within a restored Byzantine mansion, the suites and rooms have been authentically furnished and designed to reflect the building’s history.
All rooms are individually designed and equipped to the finest detail; flat screen TVs, branded bathroom amenities, bathrobes and slippers, heated towel rack, scales, pillow menu and internet connection are standard.
Guests can start their day with a Greek Breakfast with delectable in-season products coming mostly from the mansion’s gardens, such as virgin olive oil, citrus fruits and vegetables. The gourmet restaurant offers Mediterranean cuisine using hand-picked ingredients with contemporary twists, whereas the appealing Spa offers a variety of treatments including a traditional hammam. A restaurant offering more casual dining options is also available.
Kinsterna Hotel features a truly unique signature swimming pool. The freshwater spring emerges from the basement and eventually forms a river-like swimming pool with private relaxation areas. A swimming pool solely available to families with children is also featured.
The pool bar serves delicious salads, sandwiches, cocktails and fresh fruit juices in a relaxing and inspiring setting.
Guests can visit the castle-city of Monemvasia, the famous beach of Simos at Elafonisos, the unique port of Gerakas or Kastania Caves offering countless and rare geological formations. Kinsterna Hotel also offers a range of activities that familiarize guests with the history of the mansion and the surrounding area.
The closest airport is Kalamata Airport, a 2 and a half hour away.

+: - Breakfast was great with nice fruits and good selection. The only issue it was almost the same each day. - Design of the room is beautiful, bed is big and comfortable. - Products in the bathroom are great. - Very clean and cleaning ladies are attentive and gentle. - Overall stuff in the hotel is great. - The main advantage of the place is you have enough privacy and don’t see a lot of people when the hotel is full. It’s calm and tranquil.
-: - Pools are quite small, water was too warm during our stay. Too simple for kids with no water "animations". - Our room was very dark with tiny window. There is space outside the room but furniture is not comfortable, I asked to give us sunbeds as my kid was sick 3 days and we couldn’t go far from the room, we were told there are no available sunbeds. - Food in the restaurants is ok but a bit overpriced. - I was unlucky with experiences booking. - I am always travelling for my birthday and it's first time when I didn't get even a post card from the hotel at the day of the birthday. Of course no complains. - Hotel is quite far from the sea and no hotel beach by the sea. You need to go early to find place in the nearest beach or to drive over 30 min to get to nicer places to swim. - We did the road to Athens 3 times and there is no way to get to the hotel during 3,5 hours (as it's stated by the property) if you respect speed limits (most of the time it's 80km and distance 352km). You need to book 4,5 -5h to go to the airport.
