+: Great location and facilities between the two villas. The swimming pool was great. Big gardens and great views. Lots of parking, lots of good sunbeds, well stocked kitchen, comfy beds. Ideal for families holidaying together but must have a car to get into towns etc however there is a garage very close with a nice coffee shop selling fresh baked goods. Lovely balcony on each villa with tables (and BBQ at one villa) for dining. Had a lovely homecooked meal provided by the host.
-: Had a lot of people coming and going into the grounds and the garage under the far villa without warning throughout our stay which isn't great for privacy. One of the baths has no wall mounted shower, only one mattress for the two baby cots which we needed to ask the cleaner for. One air con malfunctioned throughout the stay which the host did send a repair man out for promptly each time but would be nice if it worked. Ideally another parasole could be provided for the pool as it's only enough for shading a couple of sunbeds.

+: We were a family of 4 with children aged 7 and 9. We hired the 4 bedroom Villa and stayed for 10 days, the cleaner came once in the time we were there. The location was good because it is quiet with beautiful scenery but only a mile from the nearest town. You will need a car to stay here. The nearest beach is stoney and pebbly so not great for kids, but we drove to nicer beaches nearer to Rethymno and the Episkopi stretch of beach (west of Rethymno) which was huge and very clean. Rethymno old town is a 10-15 min drive away and is lovely. We also drove to Chania, Elofoniski, Arkadi monastery and some caves in the mountains which were all worth a visit. I would recommend Poliou House traditional tavernarestaurant and Beach bar Roulis for brunch. There is also a lovely little coffee shop attached to the petrol garage which is 2 mins walk up the road where we got takeaway cappuccinos amd pastries most days. The pool was amazing, super clean and we pretty much had it to ourselves most days. Comfy loungers and pool towels provided which was appreciated. The gardens are well maintained and there was good communication with Manousos (although we didn’t meet him) and his brother Nikos who came by the villa a few times to help with a few little problems.
-: The Villa is a great size and the layout is good. It’s great for 2 families as you would have a double and 2 singles plus a bathroom for each family to retain your own privacy, plus a nice communal space and good sized veranda. However if I was being picky I think the kitchen and 2 bathrooms are a bit tired and need upgrading, and we all found the beds too hard for our liking but this is personal preference I guess. Some sort of lounger or hammock on the veranda would be good too. The card for electricity also kills the electric supply to the dishwasher and washing machine which is annoying as you can’t leave those on whilst you go out. None of this detracted from our stay and we had a great time and felt sad to leave.

+: The location was fantastic, peaceful but not far from town, if you fancied a walk.
-: I couldn't say anything negative.
