+: Appartement hôtel très bien situé pour pouvoir visiter à pied la ville de Agios Nikolaos, à la fois côté mer, côté port et côté lac, avec cette particularité que la ville nous est apparue comme un petit San Francisco crétois ( des rues en montée et descente...) Des hôtes très sympathiques, attentionnés et serviables, qui ont même organisé un spectacle amateur de musique grecque de qualité, dans l'hôtel, avec des instruments traditionnels. Des paysages magnifiques...

-: La plage du port qui se situe à proximité ne nous a pas plu du tout: Mais en marchant un peu vers la statue Europe, nous avons trouvé d'autres plages propres avec une eau limpide. Quand on arrive à proximité du lieu d'habitation, il y a un premier parking qui est une arnaque, car il y a un parking moins cher sur le port lui-même et surtout le parking est gratuit dans les rues autour de l'appart-h^tel.

+: The sea view from the balcony, with a huge bougainvillea on one side, was beautiful. The decor is decidedly 1970s, but everything works exactly as it should. Nice big fan in the bedroom (with attractive view as well). Very welcoming host, who provided an excellent restaurant recommendation and a leaflet with all sorts of tips, including a beautiful coastal walk in Ayios Nikolaos. I took the host's advice and ate at the seafood restaurant called "Faros", right by the beach (lovely walk there and back along the sea front) - excellent. Nearest place to park is at the bottom of the road up to the hotel for 4 Euros a day (or for free at the Marina); from the 4 Euro car park it's a 3-minute walk up to the hotel. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Mantraki again. (Incidentally, if you are at all interested in archaeology, visit the Archaeological Museum: it's exemplary.)

+: Comfortable spacious room with terraces and lovely view. Hosts were friendly helpful couple who arranged parking and offered great advice about local sites and restaurants. Location central. Would recommend highly.

+: Die Mantraki App. in Agios Nikolaos sind eine tolle Option, einen wunderschönen Urlaub zu verbringen. Wir waren nun zum zweiten Male dort, und haben es wieder sehr genossen, hier zu sein. Man hat alles was man braucht, der Blick vom Balkon auf das Meer und die Berge Kretas ist traumhaft, und die Lage ist perfekt, um die malerische Stadt, die Strände und die Umgebung zu erkunden. Doch das Beste sind die Gastgeber Maria und Costas, die unglaublich symphatisch und liebevoll immer mit Rat und Tat für einen da sind, sodass man sich wie zuhause fühlen kann.

+: This place is runned and managed by two most beautiful, generous people I've met in Crete. Hospitality is beyond amazing. The views from the apartment are fabulous, and the location is right in the centre of Agios Nicolaos. I'll be back for sure.
