+: Beautiful traditional villa with a few quirks. The richness and warmth of the colors, furnishings and woodwork are unique and soothing amidst the classic but more stark blue and white colors ubiquitous to the region. The hosts are lovely and easy to communicate with and have given thought to the comfort of the guests, including some luxurious touches that go beyond usual vacation rentals. The master bed is a dream - not only pretty, but super comfortable. The villa is in a wonderful location close to the authentic, attractive and lively village square and the village itself it charming and peaceful. The private courtyard garden oasis and pool lounging area are gorgeous and every bit as lovely as in the pictures. The pool is pristine and was a manageable temperature even in early May. These are a few idiosyncrasies (mentioned below), but it is important to note that these did not detract greatly from our overall enjoyment of this lovely accommodation, which would have felt like stepping back in time but for all the modern comforts. We loved our stay here and would do it all over again at the next opportunity!
-: As is to be expected on an older house, there are some idiosyncrasies to be aware of when booking. The step down from the living room to the master caused a few stumbles, some of the doorways were built for previous shorter generations and caused a head bump or two, the bathroom is in the master wing which means that anyone staying in the second bedroom has to go through the courtyard and via the kitchen door to bypass the master, or cut through the master to get to the bathroom, and the kitchen is well equipped, but the dishes are low down in the cupboard and difficult to access if you are not limber.
