One of our top picks in Ubud.A 7-minute drive from Blanco Museum, Alaya Resort is located in the heart of Ubud, the cultural center of Bali. The resort is set amid the rice fields, offering an outdoor pool and a fitness center. Guests enjoy free daily afternoon tea and tropical fruits.
The contemporary Balinese-style rooms all come with a flat-screen TV and a private terrace overlooking the natural greenery. Fitted with marble flooring, the private bathrooms are decorated with artworks and provide complete facilities.
Alaya Resort Ubud is 656 feet’ away from the Monkey Forest and 2297 feet’ away from Ubud Market. Ngurah Rai International Airport is a 1.5-hour drive from the resort, which offers airport pick-up services at an additional charge
Providing free WiFi, the resort operates a 24-hour front desk. Staff can assist guests with luggage storage and car or bicycle rental services. Guests who prefer to relax can enjoy pampering massages at the on-site DaLa Spa.
Indonesian and international cuisines are served in the on-site Petani Restaurant and Manisan Restaurant, which also offer room service upon request. Live music performances by notable Balinese musicians are also hosted at the resort.

+: Alaya is perfectly located in central Ubud. Our room was clean and spacious, as was the balcony. The bed was very comfortable. The grounds and gardens are nice but not great, and the pools are also quite nice but not beautiful. Pool loungers were in pretty good condition. Staff were lovely of course (which is always the way in Bali).
-: We were pleased to be given the room we requested, on the second floor overlooking the pool, so why did we feel quite underwhelmed by it all? Alaya is a big resort and somewhat generic, despite the attempt to make it look unique with the bamboo facade on all the concrete buildings. The room had a persistent musty drain smell, which the staff were obviously trying to mask with a dehumidifier and a plug in fragrance dispenser. The bathroom design is a little odd and the decor is rather dated. Grounds and gardens are nice but not great, and the pools are also quite nice but not beautiful. There have been so many glowing reviews for Alaya Resort, so maybe I am missing something, or maybe I was just wanting something that Alaya is not, a 'special character' boutique hotel.

+: Even though it was located in a busy area with lots of shopping and restaurant options, the hotel itself was very quiet and peaceful. The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful at all times.

+: The friendly staff were so helpful from the moment we arrived. The resort itself was so beautiful, and the shower was the largest I have ever seen. The location was central to shops and monkeys forest just down the road and flowing onto the streets. This was the kind of place that we were shocked at how lucky we were to be staying, affordable, but yet 5 stars...highly recommended
-: Only thing that I could say was a negative was the toilet, was sharing with a friend and wished it had been abit more sound proof then it was but all in all not a huge issue there was a lovely balcony to escape to during these times.
