+: We stayed at Hidden Paradise Cottages from 27th May 24 - 2nd June. After researching accommodation near Amed, we chose Hidden Paradise due to the quiet location on Lipah Beach, excellent food reviews, tropical gardens, & snorkelling from the shore directly outside the resort. This did not disappoint. The first thing we noticed on checking in were the immaculate tropical gardens, being a keen gardener myself, I noticed how meticulously maintained the grounds were. I since found out they employ 3 full time gardeners. The villa was extremely clean, with its own porch and part outside bathroom. The staff, were so very friendly & attentive. There is a mini mart a few doors up, to buy supplies, you can hire a motorbike via HP,which only cost around $15 per day.Alex hires out the snorkelling equipment, boat trips etc, you'll find him on the beach out the front of HPC.Such a lovely young man, we got to know him well in our 7 days. A highlight was a sunset cruise overlooking Agung. The food at Hidden Paradise Cottages, oh my! Everything was fresh and cooked from scratch. The juices freshly squeezed, they even made their own yoghurt for smoothies. We tried a different meal each night, and it was so delicious. The staff even set up a table with fresh flowers and candles on the grass area near the sand, for our anniversary dinner. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff.Breakfast too was delicious, eggs anyway, cereal, Indonesian, coffee, tea juice, fruit, toast homemade jams and home made peanut butter! Yummy. We were hoping we would get to see a turtle when we snorkelled right out the front near the restaurant, but gee, we snorkelled with turtles everyday! Just incredible. Not only that late one night we were fortunate to see a Mama turtle lays eggs in the sand. And watched the whole process before she covered them up & went back out to sea . Watch out for turtles hatching near the sun lounges in 2-3months!
