+: Overall Luxury environment , furniture ..ect , big room space size , some great city view , excellent breakfast buffet range, Honest kindly staff.. Very special note n thanks and appreciate for staff front office n lobby. Very honest and helpful staff .. after check in i forget my mobile phone @ Lobby n go to room ..but soon after lovely hotel staff member knocked my room n given my phone to 🤗.. until she came i dnt know that i forget phone .. thanks who worked on 1st June 2024 nite shift 👍🤝❤

+: The location at a high place was very good to have a look at the whole city.

+: Large comfortable room with balcony with views across Kandy. Staff friendly and courteous. Decent selection of food for both breakfast and dinner.

-: My recent stay at the Grand Kandyan Hotel was unfortunately marred by a multitude of issues, highlighting significant shortcomings despite its purported four-star status.Negative Points:- Safe and minibar were malfunctioning- Lack of basic amenities such as hand towels, bathrobes, and a working hand shower- Persistent mold smell due to poor ventilation and lack of sunlight- Tediously slow service, with issues unresolved for extended periodsUpon arrival, we promptly notified the reception about the minibar issue, which was replaced, but our concerns about the mold in room 207 were ignored. Despite multiple complaints, including during breakfast the next day, it took considerable effort to convince the staff to address the issue. We were shown several rooms with the same problem, resulting in wasted time and frustration.Eventually, we were moved to a room with better sunlight, alleviating the mold smell. However, other issues persisted, such as a non-functional safe, broken hand shower, and the absence of bathrobes. Despite informing the staff about the detrimental impact of the mold on my health, no accommodations or discounts were offered during check-out.Additional setbacks included limited spa facilities, with only one therapist available, forcing us to take turns for massages.In conclusion, the Grand Kandyan Hotel failed to meet expectations, and I do not recommend it to others. The lack of attention to basic amenities, slow response to complaints, and disregard for guest comfort overshadow any positive aspects of the stay.
