Located on a division of the Enselwatte Tea Estate, The Rainforest Ecolodge offers accommodations with a private bathroom surrounded by a forest habitat. It features an observation desk, lounge and restaurant.
The tea estate borders the South-eastern side of the Sinharaja Rainforest. Matara city is a 1.5-hour drive away while Colombo city is a 4.5-hour from the Southern Expressway. It takes 5.5 hours to travel from Bandaranaike International Airport.
Boasting a balcony with mountain views, each bungalow includes a sofa, safe and tea/coffee making facilities. Private bathroom comes with a hot and cold shower and hairdryer.
The Rainforest Ecolodge offers tours and provides safety deposit boxes at its 12-hour reception.
Sri Lankan and International dishes are served at the ecolodge’s restaurant, which also has a bar.

+: The tour guide taking us for a couple of excursions was great, very knowledgable, and passionate about the forest and its ecosystem, he was fantastic. The Staff is doing their best to make you feel comfortable as always.
-: Unfortunately I can't recommend...value for money is not there, totally overpriced compared to the standards of luxury hotels you can find in Sri Lanka. Clearly overpriced and accommodation are getting hold and would need a refresh.

+: Beautifully located in a remote and secluded area on top of the mountain. The journey to the premise is an adventure in itself. You have to switch to a 4x4 for a bumpy 45-minute ride with spectacular views. The staff, from the reception to the restaurant, especially the restaurant staff, are very nice and friendly and helpful, not to mention very efficient. Food is always beautifully prepared and presented. Exotic fresh fruit juices that were never seen anywhere else are served here, like wood apple juice and sour sop juice. Enjoyed the place a lot!
-: Nothing really as long as one can enjoy fully everything the nature has to offer.
