Tours and prices for holidays at the hotel Roman Beach Hotel 3* 2024-2025 Sri Lanka, Hikkaduwa

+: The hotel is small and cozy located right on the beach. The size of the room is generous and they were cleaned well. We had some amazing food at the restaurant: banana pancakes, fruits, curd, lobster with seafood, kottu. The attention and services the staff gives is unparalleled in all my travels - they will give you flowers when you make photos, escort you to car at 4am, run to give you umbrella or help with moving sun beds. Thanks to all people that made our stay so joyful and memorable and sorry that I forgot your names so I can mention you.

-: The reception is often left unattended and seemed only one person can operate the POS terminal so that we can pay for the room, however all issues we had were sorted out. Some of the food in restaurant was not great - extremely dry white fish, shrimps that looked and tasted old and hard to chew. Most of the staff's English is sufficient but I had the feeling they do not understand all that I say. The hotel is 4* but do not expect same standard as in USEU: sheets are clean but have stains, there is mold on the wall next to AC, cracks on the sink, no sunbeds on the beach - only single umbrella. Wifi is OK but seemed to have a firewall that was preventing me to connect to company's VPN, so I couldn't work from the hotel.

+: Absolument tout. C’est un petit hôtel absolument charmant. Expérience fabuleuse. Les chambres sont spacieuses, bien insonorisées, bien décorées et très propres, bonne literie, salle de bains spacieuse également. Toutes les chambres ont vue sur l’océan et la piscine. Accès direct à la plage. Le bâtiment est très bien entretenu ainsi que le jardin. Le personnel est discret et d’une extreme gentillesse (mention spéciale à Sampath et au gardien qui m’a aidée avec mes pieds plein de petrol suite à une ballade sur une plage loin de l’hôtel assez polluée). Le chef du restaurant est très à l’écoute de tous, et de plie en quatre pour nous faire plaisir. Toujours beaucoup de petites attentions très plaisantes et sa cuisine est divine!

+: Wir haben ein kleines und individuelles Hotel mit direktem Strandzugang gesucht und gefunden. Das Hotel hat nur 6 Zimmer, ist daher vom Publikum eher sehr ruhig und das Personal kann daher auf jeden Gast persönlich eingehen. Der Pool (ca.20x10 M) und die Gartenanlage wurden liebevoll gepflegt. Es waren genügend Liegen und immer frische Handtücher vorhanden. Die Gastronomie ist gleichzeitig Ausbildungsstelle für derzeit zwei Servicekräfte. Mit etwas Geduld bekommt man eine sehr gute Bedienung. Das Abendessen ist sehr schmackhaft international. Um auch die Küche Sri Lankas zu probieren waren wir abwechselnd mal im Ort, mal im Hotel essen. Der Manager konnte uns mit unseren Wünschen nach Taxi o.ä. immer behilflich sein. Es wurde sich immer nach unserem Wohlbefinden erkundigt. Wenn man aus dem Hotel rauskommend ca. 2550 Meter nach links läuft, kommt eine unscheinbar aussehende Schmuckwerkstatt. Scheut euch nicht dort mal reinzuschauen. Zwei Silberschmiede fertigen nach euren Wünschen ein Schmuckstück aus Mondstein und anderen Edelsteinen für einen nicht überteuerten Preis an.

-: Das Frühstück war gar nicht nach unserem Geschmack - die Eierspeisen waren wässrig. Allerdings konnten die Gebäckteilchen und das Müsli gut verzehrt werden. Der angeblich frisch gepresste Juice kam aus der Tüte und wurde "frisch" angerührt.

+: Really quiet, peaceful area of hikkaduwa. Not far from restaurants and hotels. 2 minutes from the centre in a tuk tuk.

-: The food was a little bit overpriced.

+: We absolutely loved this hotel from start to finish. We had a beautiful room with sea view, the pool was fantastic, the food was the best we've eaten in Sri Lanka, but what made it for us were the staff here were just outstanding. Each and every member of the team worked so hard to make their guests happy. They greeted us with smiles, were helpful and so very friendly. The manager Warna is wonderful, couldn't do enough and we loved our chats with him. Sugath's smiles around the pool, attentive at every moment to us and kind to our daughter, getting drinks, towels and balls for the pool (he even cleaned our tuk tuk rental for us!) Sampath was courteous at meal times, explaining the different dishes and Kalani made us welcome from the start as did all the staff here who helped with our bags and kept our room wonderfully clean, I wish I could name each individually as they all deserve a mention! We ate at the hotel as the chef took the time to talk with the guests and he put my mind at rest that he would serve Sri Lankan food that wasn't too spicy for us. The food was wonderful! It was a pleasure to stay and eat here. Overall, with only 6 rooms the hotel feels peaceful, it's quiet around the pool and beach, but it's not too far from the main town for the restaurants and shops. Pool is perfect with shady spots during the heat of the day, plenty of sun loungers and right on the beautiful beach. Rooms were bright and spacious with great air con comfy beds and a huge bathroom and balcony. We couldn't have wanted for more. Thanks to all of you for making the last 3 nights of our holiday very memorable! I hope we can return to Hikkaduwa and Roman Beach Hotel.

+: Fantastic location - close to beach bars and restaurants, but quiet. Nice pool. Friendly and enthusiastic staff.

+: Perfekter Aufenthalt, aufmerksames und liebevolles Personal an jeder Stelle des Hotels, wunderschöne Lage direkt am Strand, Frühstück und Essen sind top, auf individuelle Wünsche wird jederzeit eingegangen und versucht, wirklich alles umzusetzen und möglich zu machen.

+: The service of every member of staff was excellent and this is what we will remember about our stay. Sampath looked after us very well at meal times; Sugath kept the pool clean and made sure our sunbeds had towels and made sure we were comfortable by the pool; chef was lovely and cooked us the food we wanted to eat which was delicious especially the special seafood meal by candlelight on the edge of the beach - it was amazing and romantic; and Kilani on reception who helped us out to recover an overpaymnent made to another hotel. The hotel only had 6 rooms and it was well located, at the quieter end of Hikkaduwa , away from the crowds. At times, we felt that we were on our own private beach. We liked the fact that no service charge was added to food and drink, like other hotels, and that left us free to tip the staff as we wanted. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend it.

-: Just a few small points- -the shower area was just bare concrete and it would have been nice if it had been tiled as it felt a bit unfinished -the room and shower room could do with a fresh coat of paint -the towels in the bathroom should be renewed as they seemed tired -we were on half board and it wasn't clear what was included -we were presented with a Western style set menu for the evening meal which we didn't want and so chef spoke to us daily about what we would like to eat - which was Sri Lankan food!

+: Superschönes Hotel, wir hatten ein großartiges Zimmer mit unglaublichem Ausblick, die Lage war wirklich gut. Der Poolbereich gefiel uns auch super gut und die Anlage war sehr gepflegt, ebenso wie der Garten. Das Personal was sehr bemüht und hat versucht jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen!

-: Das Frühstück und dessen Ablauf war undurchsichtig.. Mit Allergien konnte die Küche leider nicht viel anfangen, daher fiel das Frühstück auch etwas mager aus. Auch für meinen Partner, der keine Allergien hat. Leider gab es auch eine Sprachbarriere, weshalb keine richtige Lösung gefunden werden konnte. Trotzdem waren alle sehr bemüht. Das Personal muss allerdings etwas aufpassen, dass die Bemühungen nicht zu aufdringlich werden. Auch die ständigen Bitten eine Bewertung abzugeben und Namen dabei zu nennen waren in Summe leider nervig...
