Tours and prices for holidays at the hotel The Beach Cabanas 4* 2024-2025 Sri Lanka, Koggala

+: Sehr schönes Zimmer direkt am Strand mit toller Aussicht. Leider bietet das Hotel sonst sehr wenig, kein Strandrestaurant oder Bar. Der Pool ist auch nichts besonderes. Man hat das wunderschöne Meer vor der Türe und kann nicht darin schwimmen, weil es wegen der Strömung zu gefährlich ist. Das ist sehr schade.

+: This place is all about the location. The view from the Cabana is unrivaled & you literally step out of your room onto the beach. The sea was super rough at the time of travel but there's also a pool for swimming + spa facilities (didn't have time to use). Good Wifi in room only.

-: We arrived & the place was a little like a ghost town - even to the point that we had to search for someone to check us in which was rather odd. The Cabana's barrestaurant and even reception all appear to be closed & this wasn't explained to us at check in. Possibly this is an out of season thing, so you do need to walk 200m to the neighbouring hotel. The plus side is that you get to use the hotel barrestaurant & back at the Cabana, we pretty much had an entire beach and pool to ourselves. The minus is that if you need anything there's literally no one around to ask without walking 200m to the hotel reception. Note that the phones in the room don't work.

+: I like the view. And that’s probably the only thing I liked. Your cabana is on the beach so you can stare at the ocean as long as you want. If you have your car there and you are with your loved one - it can be very nice. I was alone and with no car so it was not comfortable.

-: Reception doesn’t exist. You have to go to the reception of the next hotel (7-8 mins by walk) if you need something. Breakfast very poor, staff doesn’t speak English. I had ants in my room during my stay and asked from staff to solve that, they didn’t. Telephone didn’t worked. WIFI very bad. Beach not for swiming because of the big waves.

+: Camere ben arredate e pulite, bagno comodo e ben organizzato, posizione delle camere sulla spiaggia da sogno. Personale gentilissimo e accogliente.

-: L’acqua della piscina era un poco torbida, ma con il mare di fronte non l’avrei usata comunque.

+: Grote kamer en badkamer met ruime douchecabine. Overdekte veranda met zitjes en ligbedden waar je zelfs in de regen lekker met zeezicht kon zitten. Het buffet was weliswaar lokaal maar van goede kwaliteit. Direct aan het enorm lange strand.

-: Zoals meeste lokale hotels kun je geen efficiëntie verwachten. Alle issues worden pas na uren opgelost door het overigens geduldige en vriendelijke personeel. Het begon al toen we probeerden in te checken en niemand aanwezig was die wist hoe ze met Booking.com reserveringen moesten omgaan. In de eerste kamer was de ac stuk, na de verhuizing bleek er geen wifi te zijn. Toen die kwam stond die buiten de deur waardoor je in de kamer zelf geen wifi had en ik de router zelf maar in de kamer aangesloten heb. De ac lamellen heb ik met de hand moeten omzetten omdat die rechtstreeks op het bed gericht stond te blazen. De kamer was met ontbijt maar men probeerde dat toch in rekening te brengen.

+: Die Lage direkt am Strand war super und die Zimmer geräumig.

-: Zum Frühstück mit Büffet hatte man einen Weg von 10 min in ein Nachbarhotel. Büffet war nicht besonders gut. Beim Frühstück im Hotel war i. O., jedoch das Personal war unausgebildet. Insgesamt war das Personal unorganisiert und desorientiert. Das Personal kam uns zwischendurch auf dem Gang entgegen und wollte irgendwelche Belege unterzeichnet haben. Zwecks Abrechnung wurde am Vorabend der Abreise 22:30 am Zimmer geklopft und wir sollten bezahlen.

+: Secluded romantic getaway, beautiful views, almost no people on the beach

-: Poorly maintained facilities, common in Sri Lanka. It was a quiet period and the staff were not attentive to the few guests that where staying in the property, very slow service.

+: This is a very quiet location on a long deserted beach. The rooms look out onto the sea, it's magical. There were few guests there for our stay. The staff couldn't do more for us, they were very attentive. Breakfast was really good.
