Located right next to the pristine Štrbské Lake in the foothills of the High Tatras, Hotel FIS offers cozy accommodations at the entrance to the Mlynická Valley. Ski slopes, cross country tracks, and hiking trails are all within 50 m of the FIS. Wi-Fi is free in all rooms. Wellness center can be enjoyed free of charge.

The newly-furnished rooms offer a comfort in a mountain style. Each room has a private bathroom and most of the rooms have a private balcony. The on-site restaurant and a lobby bar serves Slovak and international cuisine.

Opened in 2013, the spa and wellness facilities include a relaxation room, infrared sauna, steam sauna, Finnish sauna, hot tub and treatment rooms. Some areas overlook the ski jumps. A well-equipped gym, and sports hall for playing volleyball, basketball, mini-football, and tennis are also available. Guests can also enjoy a game of table tennis or pool.

The lobby and café have been refurbished in 2012. All rooms were renovated in 2017.

This dog-friendly hotel also accommodates dogs for a surcharge on certain floors.

This hotel was named after the international ski federation, the FIS, and was officially launched by FIS president Mark Hodler in 1970. The FIS Hotel is the largest accommodations and sporting complex in the High Tatra Mountains.

Poprad Airport is a 20-minute drive away.

+: Das Haupthaus ist sehr schön, hervorragendes Restaurant, sehr gutes Frühstück, super freundliches Personal, schöner Wellness Bereich, Top Lage in Strbske Pleso für Wanderungen, grundsätzlich auch hundefreundliches Hotel ( darf auch mit ins Restaurant und das ist in der Slowakei keine Selbstverständlichkeit)

-: Die Nebengebäude(Bungalows) sind zwar sehr sauber geputzt und geräumig, aber optisch - ich sag mal gewöhnungsbedürftig....sehen eher wie Abrissbuden aus Zeiten des eisernen Vorhangs aus und auch innen teilweise "wild" eingerichtet ...waren im Endeffekt nicht unbequem (gute Betten),aber der erste Eindruck war schon eher " oh mein Gott, wo sind wir da gelandet ;-)"...ganz krasser Kontrast zum Hauptgebäude...Der Preis mit 30€ pro Nacht (!) für unseren kleinen Hund fanden wir schon sehr heftig ( vor allem, wenn man die Ausstattung des Bungalows bedenkt...)

+: Bungalov bol čistý s pohodlnými posteľami. Nič nám nechýbalo. Napriek tomu, že na prvý pohľad si kúpeľňa žiada rekonštrukciu, je tam čisto a všetko fungovalo ako má.
