One of our top picks in Ko Yao Yai.The 4-star luxury hotel is nestled within a rainforest, steps from the tranquil shores of Yao Yai Islands. Providing direct access to a 400 m private beach and magnificent views of Phang Nga Bay and Phi Phi Islands, it also features a large infinity pool.
Each air-conditioned bungalow at the Koh Yao Yai Village comes decorated in local hand-crafted artwork and furnishings. Featuring a semi-open concept, the spacious bungalows provide outdoor rainshower facilities, a private terrace with deck chairs and umbrella. Dreamy views of the ocean or rainforest can be enjoyed from the rooms.
Overlooking the white sandy beach and nearby islands, the pool provides a beautiful spot for sun tanning, and the library provides internet access and a peaceful spot indoors. Gifts and souvenirs are available at a gift shop and an Activity Centre helps guests with their sightseeing plans.
Savor local and international cuisine at the Khayee Restaurant, which features outdoor and open air dining. Alternatively, Krachang Bar & Grill serves fresh seafood dishes. For drinks and light snacks, head to the pool bar.
Koh Yao Yai Village is a 30-minute speed boat ride from Phuket (Ao Po Grand Marina Pier) or Krabi (Ao Nang Pier) and connecting transportation via both places are available. The property is a 20-minute drive from Klong Hai Pier.

+: Breakfast was amazing. They had different local freshly cooked options and also a delicious herbal tea you can do for yourself. It is served ocean front and really pleasant. The only set back would be using boxed juice for some options (there was also fresh juice!). Location wise it was very good too, peaceful and natural. They had amazing coffee in the hotel and the ocean front bar and pool are really good. Also had stanup paddle and kayaks to lend freely.
-: Village Resort is about a 25-minute drive from the island pier and all other main places of interest in the island. As the name suggests, it has a village-like feel, with separate villas spread across the property. We stayed in a deluxe villa, which was a good size, it has an external seating area, bedroom, and bathroom. The bed and shower were great. However, the room had a strong moldy, humid smell, which was a bit unpleasant. The resort amenities were nice, especially the oceanfront pool and the restaurant where breakfast is served. We didn't try the spa due to the high prices. Fortunately, there are a few local massage places just a few meters from the hotel costing only a fraction of what they are charging in the hotel. I highly recommend Leela Massage, which is about an 8-minute walk from the resort. Overall, it was a good stay, but there are some areas for improvement like Reception Standards & Communication. When we arrived, we weren’t offered a cold towel, which is a common practice in Thai resorts. This may have been an oversight on their part. Also, when we inquired about renting bicycles, we received different answers regarding prices. Some of the bikes had flat tires, and when we asked if they could be pumped, the receptionist said they didn’t have a pump. I don’t understand why they would offer bikes for rent that aren’t in good condition or have no plans for maintenance. In summary, the stay was pleasant, but the resort could benefit from better communication and attention to detail.

+: Lovely selection of local and European style food at the buffet with something new to try from the friendly chef each day..Fabulous open air restaurant overlooking the gorgeous horizon pool and the ocean, dotted with karst islands. Idyllic! Our bungalow was set amidst the cooling tranquil forest with peaks at the ocean and numerous birds among the flowers
-: Transport on the island is limited, but a car to shuttle us from the pier would have been preferable to an open truckcollectivo and its diesel fumes

+: L’hôtel est juste incroyable. Très beau cadre. Très beau concept. Situé a meme pas 15 minutes du port. Vrai coup de cœur pour cette hotel. Incroyable experience. Île facilement accessible en ferry. Pas beaucoup de touristes. Vrai lieu pour se reconnecter avec la nature et se reposer.
-: J’avais 2 douches, ça aurait pu être une douche et une baignoire.

+: We were very impressed by the tasteful appointment of this resort and its natural setting. The facilities (restaurant and pool) are so well laid out and beautiful that they it was the best we have been to, and my husband and I have done a fair bit of travelling. Staff were really good, shoutout to Tewit on breakfast service each day as he was fantastic. Great happy hour specials too.Villas were spacious, beautifully appointed, and very well designed. We loved the large bathroom and outdoor shower. It's one of the few places we would love to return to and look forward to doing so.
-: Hmm, it's actually hard to come up with something.
