+: If this is a 4 star hotel, I'm a Mickey Mouse. The only good thing about this place is it's central position near Taksim square.
-: I work as a tour guide for almost 17 years and I have slept in Istanbul really a lot of times. I had much better breakfast in average and below average 3 star hotels in Aksaray region of Istanbul, than in this dumphole. The interior of common areas resembles of old facades in Venice, both, a bit neglected - bad maintained and full of stains. The carpet in the room smelled so bad that even after opening the window and leaving it for a while to get some fresh air, 10-15min after closing it you can still feel like you are rather in an old intercity bus in Pakistan, than in a 4 star hotel in Istanbul. There is literraly a carpet full of that horrible smell, that forced us to sleep with windows widely opened for 4 nights, risking cockrouches (Istanbul full of them), mosquitos etc. Mentioning the windows, we were in the 6th floor, backyard oriented, told that it's more quiter than the room in the 1st floor offered on check in, since that one looks to the street. BUT, they didn't mention that there is a night club in the same 6th floor, in the building nextdoor. We also had front row seats for a firework from that place, one night. I have noticed a lot of people mentioning that reception staff were rude. We didn't have that sense until one young boy, I am appx double his age, appeared the last night at the front desk. Cocky, too direct and full of himself asking me how do I feel about the hotel. When I told him that it wasn't what I expected, he started gossiping in Turkish with his colleague, making fun of my words. Overall, really big disapointment for a 4 star hotel. Never again and I do not recommend the place.
