Mafia Island is about 30 miles from the coast of Tanzania, 30 minutes by plane from Dar es Salaam and 45 minutes from Selous Game Reserve and Zanzibar Island. You can only fly to Mafia Island by plane (transfer from and to the airport is included in the price). Kilindoni, the main village on Mafia Island, is 20 minutes ’drive away.
