It is just 701 m from the white sand Muyuni Beach.
All the rooms come with a balcony or terrace and ocean views. They also include Zanzibari-style décor and a safety deposit box. The private bathrooms are equipped with a shower.
Sunshine Marine Lodge also offers their guests exclusive access to a private beach area on Muyuni Beach. This private beach features a restaurant, beach bar as well as umbrellas and sun lounges.
There is a wooden jetty leading down to the beach at low tide and to the sea at high tide. Guests can also relax in a hammock or by one of the pools. Dove Point Zanzibar offers scuba diving and snorkeling.
The property also features a Body & Mind Harmony Center. The space was designed with yoga practitioners in mind, but can serve many other purposes. Yoga classes available.

+: It's a stunningly beautiful resort, with wonderful bedrooms. Fabulous manicured gardens. A wonderful restaurant with great views and excellent food from breakfast to dinner.
-: It's a little isolated. Be prepared to either just dive and stay at the resort, or pay quite a lot for taxis to go places. Either way, it's just a fabulous place not to be missed.

+: All the units are situated in beautiful gardens surrounding the property. The rooms are super clean, and the staff are excellent, right from the welcome to the check-out. My wife and I stayed here for our 10 year anniversary, and the staff arranged the dinner table in a private mezzanine area without us even asking. Everything is done with a smile. The sister hotel shuttle service is also great should you wish to spend time on the beach, as Sunshine Marine has no beach area.

+: Property is very green big and well care, no monkeys on the property what is important for most people. Only cute family of bush baby what is make our stay more warmer to watch how they are eating bananas or piece of bread . We can watch them every evening.

+: The room decoration and cleanness was impeccable! The staff was super helpful and nice to us. The pool was pretty great.We arrived very late (22h00) and they even arranged us some light dinner snacks to be in the room upon arrival as we requested , which was truly appreciated.
-: The access to the hotel and the street was very damaged, took us a while to arrive there. Also this is a remote place so not easy to reach other areas around.This hotel does not have a beach in a walking distance, but this we already knew when we booked it.

+: Sunshine Marine Lodge is an authentic traditional style beach lodge with A frame thatch rooms that let the sea breeze through (or AC if you choose to turn it on) and good quality, reasonably priced food in its restaurant. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff if you ask nicely and I had an awsesome five days here. The DivePoint centre is really five star PADI and I had six excellant dives on nearby sites around Mnembe island - I dont think any other hotel is this close and can do the dives every day the same time no matter the tide. It is off the main tourist track so dont expect to travel around easily from here (although all Zanzibar tours are offered), I chose to chill and relax after diving in a very private enviroment with excellant views and lovely gardens. i would recommend to anyone who wants to do the same.
-: I prefer to be transported to and from the airport by the hotel but at $60 this is too expensive for a solo traveller (many choose this Lodge) but reasonable for a family of four.
