The original landscape design, shady park, fountain, early singing of forest birds make the sanatorium unique. The sanatorium operates in year-round mode. Indeed, in the area where it is located, there is no bad weather: a snowy and frosty winter, a dry and hot summer, a soft and warm autumn, a blooming spring - attract lovers of rest at all times of the year. The spa, in which the main treatment is balneotherapy, is called balneological. It is the balneological resort “Borzhava”, because it uses a unique complex of mineral medicinal waters of 5 types with different chemical composition and, accordingly, different healing properties, which makes possible simultaneous effective treatment of various diseases. Balneotherapy (lat. Balneum - bath, bathing) covers methods of treatment, prevention and restoration of impaired body functions using natural or artificially prepared mineral waters. Their use can be external (mineral baths), internal (drinking treatment, inhalation) and intra-abdominal (washing, irrigation). The therapeutic effect of mineral waters is due to their temperature, as well as the presence of salts, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and other substances. About the healing properties of mineral water was known in ancient times. The first written source in which reference was made to hydrotherapy was the ancient Indian Vedas (2000–1500 BC). However, long before the appearance of writing, people widely used water not only for washing the body, but also for healing the entire body. The art of balneotherapy was already known in ancient Assyria and Babylon, from where it gradually spread and reached Egypt. Here the ancient Greek scientist Pythagoras first met him. In the IV. BC. begins the heyday of hydrotherapy on the territory of ancient Hellas. Special merit in this belongs to the famous doctor Hippocrates. In his treatise "On air, water and terrain," in which the foundations of balneology were laid, it is said that nature can not only provoke diseases, but also heal them. Already at that time it was known about the side effects of drugs, so the scientist placed special hopes on the health baths, and not on the pills that were beginning to come into vogue. Thanks to the well-known doctor Asclepius from Hellas, the tradition of hydrotherapy was transferred to Rome, where they were further developed. In the era of the Roman Empire, procedures using water and mineral and hot springs were not only popular, but also fashionable. In many parts of Italy there are still remains of ancient Roman baths (balneumi), which were used not only for ablutions, rest and entertainment, but also for health treatments. With the end of the ancient era, the culture of hydrotherapy was lost, it was rediscovered only in the Renaissance. In the XVI century. The popularity of balneotherapy in Europe has increased rapidly. Already at the end of the XVII century. opened resorts in Vichy, Carlsbad, Wiesbaden, Baden-Baden and other European cities, became world famous. In our time, balneotherapy is the basis of spa treatment. Along with the traditional drinking treatment, new methods of using mineral waters in the form of inhalations, microclysters with therapeutic agents on mineral water, and hydrocolonotherapy have been developed. Traditional mineral water baths are complemented by modern technologies of underwater aerohydromassage, and new aqua-gymnastics techniques are used in mineral water pools. Ukraine is extremely rich in various mineral waters. Its balneological resorts are world-famous: Kuyalnik, Truskavets, Svalyava, Khmilnyk, Mirgorod, Morshin, Berezovsky minvody.
