+: It was like stepping into an episode of Bridgerton. The hotel was beautiful and oozed old world charm. The rooms were large with comfy beds and beautiful marble bathrooms. Loads of food options with 3 different restaurants. Food was fantastic and choices satisfied even our fussiest eater! Happy Hour was great, each night at a different location. Enjoyed the Balinese Spa treatment that was fantastic! Staff were wonderful and so helpful. Can't wait to visit again.

+: Great F&B options with fantastic venues. Location is spot on. Rooms were clean and efficient - great for business travel.

-: The staff needs to be better trained in offering service that keeps customer needs in mind. There were quite a few occasions were simple requests were rejected without any effort to resolve the need.

+: I had the pleasure of staying at the Galle Face & it was an experience to remember. I was warmly welcomed by the staff and offered a complimentary drink, setting a positive tone for my stay. I had booked a Regency room, which is the standard option and was delighted to receive an upgrade to a room with a partial sea view. This thoughtful gesture made my trip truly special, and I am grateful to the staff who made it happen. The staff throughout my stay were exceptional; warm, welcoming, and attentive. As a solo female traveller, I felt very safe at the Hotel, which was predominantly staffed by men. Their professionalism and friendliness made me feel right at home. My upgraded room was beautiful, with an amazing view of the outdoor area and sea that kept me smiling throughout my stay. The room was extremely spacious and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was well-equipped with both a bathtub and a shower. The shower was spacious, and the vanity area provided plenty of room for my essentials. The room included a writing desk, a coffee table, and chair, offering a comfortable spot to relax. The hotel’s location is excellent, close to the beach and the bustling areas. I loved sitting close to the sea, listening to the waves, and enjoying the serenity. On my first night, I ordered room service, and the food arrived quickly and was delicious. Breakfast was included in my stay, and the variety was impressive. I also dined at one of the on-site restaurants for dinner one night. One of the highlights of my stay was experiencing the sunset and lowering of the Sri Lankan flag from the outdoor area. It was an emotional and memorable experience that I will cherish. Watching the sun go down was breath-taking, and there was plenty of space to enjoy it without feeling cramped. Everything about my stay at the Galle Face Hotel was exceptional. The combination of historical charm, modern comforts, attentive staff, and beautiful surroundings made it an unforgettable experience.

-: NA - I treated myself to a 90-minute massage at the on-site spa, which was very affordable compared to prices in the UK. The spa area was clean and inviting, and the staff were polite and warm. While there was an unpleasant smell initially in the treatment room, it dissipated quickly. My only minor criticism would be that the spa bed could use an update, but this did not detract from the overall experience.

+: Uns wurde gegen ein sehr geringes Aufgeld eine Honeymoon Suite angeboten. Es war eine luxeriöse Suite mit 2 Balkons auf den Gartendas Meer hinaus. Frühstück war mit inbegriffen im Preis. Wir haben ein sehr reichhaltiges Büffet gehabt, mit Westlichem und diversen typischen Sri Lanka Frühstücksgerichten. Es gab auch eine gute Auswahl an Obst und Säften. Das Frühstück wird "al Fresco" serviert, überdacht, aber draußen, mit Blick aufs Meer. Galle Face Hotel liegt direkt am Meer in Colombo 1, ist damit zentral gelegen für viele Dinge.
