+: Azul Beach Resort Riviera Cancun "saved" my vacation. Having come from another resort that was, ah-hem, a wee bit mis-advertised, I found serenity, ambiance, great people, excellent amenities and lodging at Azul. If you like to swim, Azul is for you. You can plop into one of the many pool areas and swim until your heart is content, around the ambient chill music-laden curvy pools...I chose an ocean view room and it was huge, very unique, had a lovely round soaker hot tub with a view, along with a huge terrace with a coach, ottoman, chair, sun lounger, etc. Comfort, bliss, service, sun and fun. That is Azul. The staff truly felt like they enjoyed being there. Service levels were outstanding. Food was great! Perfect-sized resort that catered to singles, couples, and families. Too many to name but Vicente, Alejandro, Jorje, Ivon, Rubi, Miguel and Mateo were awesome. The excursion company Bahia Maya was awesome.
-: I vacationed in April 2024, and I know that the coastlinebeaches are always changing in Mexico due to shifting sands, storms, seaweed, etc., but if you are looking for a large nice sandy beach, Azul might not be the choice for you. Lovely beach furniture - and plenty of loungers and 4-post beds line the beach, but there is truly not much beach, and the seaweed levels were super-highhard for the people to keep up with it. The water seemed very "unswimmable" at this particular time of the year - so be sure and check conditions if ocean + beach is important to you. What Azul lacked in oceanfrontbeach, they made up for in staff, service, food, roomslodging, spa, pools, and swim up bars.
