+: Nothing. Pool area is absolutely filthy. Pool in terrible condition with lots of sharp tiles. Sunbeds falling apart with filthy cushions. Pool side shower is disgusting as is most of the furniture. Room in lovely position right next to the beach. However apart from the bed, all the other furniture in the room should be put in a skip. Very disappointing. Should be shut down by health and safety. Such a shame as the position right on the beach is fantastic.The bar and furniture are old and dirty 😭

+: Located along the beach, with a narrow roadwaywalkway in front (some motorbikes, mostly pedestrians). A short walk (3-5 minutes) to a 711 and a good selection of restaurants, shops, massage parlors, etc. Plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. Smile Bar next door had great food and drinks and service. Several tent beach bars with beach chairs and service were along the beach. Nice place for the sunset. It is a relatively quiet area at night after 10 pm - 11 pm. Our apartment was on the second floor, with a balcony overlooking the pool. The pool was decent and cleaned each morning. We stayed in July during the off season, but there were plenty of tourists around. The waves were constant and could be heard inside the living room, even with the doors closed. The kitchen - living room area was larger than expected. The bed was comfortable for us (not hard, not too soft). Our apartment would have been okay for two couples or a family (two bedrooms with private bathrooms). It is near a nice new police station (we think that is a good thing).

-: Generally, the place could use some minor renovations and repairs. Our balcony door would not lock (I used a rope to secure the doors). The stovetop was rusted and the pots were not in good condition (one had a useless handle). Since there were plenty of good places to eat all around we didn't cook. I read reviews about the weak water pressure in the bathroom shower, which was true for us, too. But, the pressure was good enough for a shower. Only the basic necessities and simple furniture were supplied. If we returned to Kamala beach, we would stay at the larger resort along the beach with all the pools (it looked great); it's next to the police station. They did not respond to emails after we booked the apartment. I called from the taxi, but nobody answered the phone. We arrived around 9 pm, after the reception was closed. Luckily, the night man gave us the room key and helped carry our luggage up to the second floor (no elevator).
