+: We had the most wonderful stay at hotel Mchanga, a unique place by the beach with swimming pool, beach bar, on site restaurant with delicious food, spacious rooms and facilities (the best we ever had).We contemplated local men fishing in their Dows and beautiful African women in colourful dresses collecting seashells in the turcoise waters of the Indian ocean.Far from the touristic spots of the Northern part of the island we had the privilege to meet the most wonderful people. The staff at the hotel was just amazing. The dinner under the stars with them singing and dancing for us by the beach was unforgettable.We drank and ate fresh coconut they collected from a coconut tree for us.Asante sana Sam, Katherine, Ahmed, Youssouf, Martin, the Chef... and all!!!

-: The breakfast was really basic... Overcooked eggs, overripe and unripe fruits. Little variety. The plunger was filthy. Processesd sausages and unavailable options like mushrooms etc that are on the menu. Very bad wifi connection, and the staff kept switching it off and moving the router running out of data Manager did not respond to our email noting concerns Filthy beach towels Housekeeping could be more thorough by clearing used cups and glasses etc and replenishing with fresh ones

+: very relaxed boutique hotel with only a handful of rooms and all the facilities necessary for a good beach break. pool as well was great, beach is just there and lovely white sand

+: L'établissement est une petite structure. Le personnel est bienveillant et au petit soin ! La piscine était très propre....Mais ça ne suffit pas . Hotel beaucoup trop cher pour la prestation.

-: Les photos ne correspondent pas à la réalité. Les photos datent certainement de l'ouverture de l'hôtel. Pas de diner à la bougie sur la plage avec des guirlandes éclairées!..... Vous diner dans un espace couvert avec une bâche ne plastique au plafond sans charme.Les nappes sont toutes dépareillées... Les chambres sont très sombres. Pas de vitre au fenêtre dans les chambres supérieures si bien que la climatisation n'arrive pas à répondre à nos attentes. Ne correspond pas pour des européens. Les salles de bains sont très vieillissantes. Rien ne correspond au photo. L'hôtel n'a pas été rénové depuis bien des années. Aucun restaurant ou bar aux alentours. Les routes sont très mauvaises et dangereuses le soir, ce qui ne permet pas de sortir de l'hôtel. Le restaurant de l'hôtel reste cher pour Zanzibar. Deux assiettes de crêpes coutent 10 $. C'est la première fois que je suis très déçue d'une réservation....

+: Es gibt Nichts Gutes über diese Unterkunft zu berichten!

-: Noch immer sind wir fassungslos über diese Unterkunft, die den Namen Hotel nicht verdient. Wir hatten die „beste“ Zimmerkategorie gebucht und hatten Haus 1. Ein Bett, eine Kleiderstange mit 6 Bügeln…. sonst Nichts! Es gab in dem Zimmer keinen Tisch, keine Stühle, keinen Schrank. Wir lebten die neun Tage lang aus den auf dem Fußboden liegenden Koffern. Die Häuser wurden von innen mit irgendeiner klebrigen Farbe angestrichen, welche sich bei Kontakt ablöste. Sogar der Waschtisch war mit dem Zeug angemalt und es löste sich bei wasserkontakt von selbst auf. Die Klimaanlage schaffte es nicht, den Raum wirklich runter zu kühlen. Dafür lief aber ständig sehr viel Kondenswasser die Wand herunter und unsere Sachen standen in Pfützen. Nicht selten rutschte einer von uns böse aus auf dem lackierten Betonboden. Es gab keine nutzbare Terrasse. Irgendwelche maximal unbequemen Stühle aus Ästen im Sand mit einem kleinen Holztisch, waren die Sitzmöbel vor dem Haus. Die Stühle versanken im Sand und es war das Absurdeste, was uns Jemals begegnet ist. Die selben Stühle befanden sich auch im Essbereich (Restaurant kann man dazu nicht sagen), welcher ebenfalls ausschließlich im Sand war. Es war schier nicht möglich irgendwie vernünftig zu sitzen. Alles versank im Sand. Keine einzige befestigte Bodenfläche, außer die Umrandung des Pools. Alles, wirklich Alles war so schmierig und dreckig…. Ekelhaft. Die Stuhlkissen waren so verschmutzt. Unfassbar!Das Personal bewegte sich nur, wenn es sich wirklich nicht vermeiden lies. Abends wurden die paar Liegen die es gab, nicht wieder schön unter die Sonnenschirme gestellt, damit es am nächsten Morgen ordentlich für die Gäste wäre. Gläser, Tassen, Müll wurden nicht weggeräumt. Blieben einfach da stehen oder liegen, wo sie halt waren. Es gibt 15 ! Sonnenliegen. Die Sitzbereiche wurden nicht sauber gemacht und auch nach Regen nicht zum trocknen hochgenommen. Die Sitzbänke unter den Palmen sind vollkommen kaputt.

+: The location is great in a quiet area directly on the beach. They have numerous beach chairs with small shade umbrellas with the ocean a stones throw away. The staff were very friendly while also allowing us to have our privacy. We had a basic double room and the facilities were totally adequate with a desk, air conditioning, ceiling fan, ample closet space, and we were lucky to have an extra bed in our room that served as a couch. The bathroom is an open design wrapping around the back of the main room. The breakfast was ample and excellent with fresh coffee and small presses available, freshly squeezed juice, ample fruits, an egg making station, and other pastries, toasts and cereals. The lunches were fine but we really enjoyed the dinners, especially the catch of the day (which was fresh and rotated) and the seafood platter .

-: There were power cuts island wide (not their fault) so we wish we would have brought a power bank
