+: A Nightmarish Experience: Jaz Lamaya Marsa Alam & Booking.comI am compelled to share a profoundly disappointing experience with my 7-night booking at Jaz Lamaya Marsa Alam, made through Booking.com. This booking unfolded into a nightmarish scenario marked by undisclosed renovations, unprofessional conduct, and a shocking lack of responsiveness from both the hotel and Booking.com.Upon arrival on February 26, my wife and I were redirected to a small part of the resort, Jaz Lamaya, which most of it was not in service. The reality was far from what was advertised on Booking.com, as we found ourselves confined to a limited area with one small pool and two for kids. This stark contrast to the advertised amenities was disheartening.The ensuing days were marked by disruptive construction noise from 7:45 am until 5 pm, severely impacting our peace and quiet. I documented this disturbance with photos and videos, providing irrefutable evidence of the conditions we endured.Efforts to address the situation with the hotel management were met with delays, misinformation, and an unprofessional request to sign a declaration waiving my right to complain. The hotel's proposed solution was to move us to another room, but we disagreed due to the majority of the hotel facilities being out of service. We wanted to check out, as we had requested from Booking.com, because the hotel management claimed they informed Booking.com that Jaz Lamaya was under construction. However, Booking.com customer service denied receiving any such information.At 4 pm, after 8 hours of continuous communication with the hotel management and five international calls to Booking.com seeking help, they offered to move us to another hotel. I disagreed with this option as well, as both solutions were contingent on signing a declaration that I had no right to complain, with the hotel asserting that everything was in satisfactory condition.Regrettably, neither the hotel nor Booking.
