+: The grounds and layout of the hotel were good. Nice and bright with good spaces and on the whole a nice quiet hotel. It's located in a town with lots of shops and restaurants. Be aware that if walking is a problem a lot of the blocks are at the top of quite a steep hill.
-: The first room we were put in was not very comfortable. Bed was hard and the fixtures and fittings were very tired and worn out. Worse than that there was quite a problem with ants in the bathroom. When we raised the issue the staff were not very accommodating. In fact they only just stopped short of saying they didn't believe us, despite photographic evidence! We ended up buying any killer and sorting the problem ourselves. The next day the shower broke and after another complaint that we had no facilities to wash with they moved us to another room. This was better and the bedding was far more comfortable. A pity this room wasn't made available to start! Whole string of events didn't make us feel particularly wanted or welcome. Food is a non event. Breakfast really rather poor indeed with some strange ideas of what people would like and most of it over cooked and a bit cold. Not worth bothering with. This is said even after going in with the knowledge that it was hardly ever going to be four start quality but we were still shocked about how low bar it was.
