Cinnamon Wild Yala Hotel is located just 5 minutes ’drive from the famous Yala National Park. It offers chalets with a private balcony and free Wi-Fi. There is also an outdoor pool and a restaurant.
The hotel is located in the south of Sri Lanka, in the village of Kirinda, remarkable for its pristine nature. Bandaranaike International Airport is a 6-hour drive.
From all the chalets there is a magnificent view of the beach or the jungle. The interior of the chalet is decorated with works of local art. Includes air conditioning, cable TV and minibar, as well as a private bathroom.
The hotel’s restaurant, Cinnamon Wild Yala, is notable for its location, thanks to which you can admire the view of the beautiful landscape. Guests can enjoy Asian and Western dishes, which can also be served directly in the room.

+: Amazing experience in a very unique location.Felt like safari drivers really went the extra mile to make sure you had a good experience and the nature staff near reception were incredibly helpful and kind.
-: Had to call 3 times over 4 hours for someone to come and remove frogs from bathroom.Food was ridiculously overpriced, even compared to other 5* hotels in Sri Lanka I had stayed at already and was quite average as a buffet.Called for someone to collect my bags from jungle and someone came to check mini bar and left me to bring bags back to main hotel - not something I’d expect for at this hotel level or for price being paid.Hair drier was very low standard (again compared to other hotels stayed in on same trip)

+: Truly special hotel in the most natural setting. The staff are wonderful and keep all areas very clean. Atmospheric individual chalet rooms where monkeys often surprise you by jumping on the metal balcony roofs. The food is excellent- the best during our trip in Sri Lanka; high quality local and international options. The pool is lovely; although there don’t seem to be enough beds for the number of rooms, we didn’t have any problems getting some as most guests are out on safari.
-: Its approach road is the nearest hotel to the park entrance but that 1km-ish approach road is a nightmare for normal cars. It is shared with the Hilton and one other hotel. Maybe they could do something together? Small criticism of a wonderful experience. Yala National Park is extremely busy ( not related to the hotel but useful info maybe). There are so many vehicles: queuing for entrance tickets ( naturally antiquated paperwork system) is laborious and frustrating when you could be seeing wildlife.

+: The staff were amazing! I felt like I was part of their community which is something I look for when I travel. The safari tour provided by Rohan was outstanding! A special mention to our room boy and the staff in the restaurant and bar areas. I would highly recommend this experience to travellers wanting to escape the touristy parts of Sri Lanka as it is the ultimate getaway in nature with beautiful people.

+: A cold towel and welcome drinks always sets the scene in what to expect from a hotel. And we weren’t disappointed. Located right next to Yala national park, its location is unique. An escort is required in the evening due to wild animals freely roaming through the hotel grounds. We spotted a wild boar one evening. The room is spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed and decent bathroom. The ac kept the room delightfully comfortable. The rooms are detached units spread across the property. Ours was a short 2min walk from the lobby and restaurant. Dinner and breakfast is excellent. A large variety of sri lankan and international options. There’s something for everyone. Due to the remote location, and a long bumpy and private road, I’d suggest eating at the hotel. There is a pool, but we didnt have time to use it. Most of our time went in a safari. We feel lucky to have spotted many animals including a leapord and bear. Our driverguide organised a private safari for us. The entrance to Yalla national park is close so the hotel is v convenient.
-: Liked it all
