One of our top picks in Unawatuna.Cocobay Unawatuna is a boutique-style beachfront resort that features a beachfront restaurant, and an outdoor pool. Offering access to 200 m of sandy beach with views of Galle Fort, the resort is located in a fishing village.
Cocobay Unawatuna is a 5-minute walk to Unawatuna Bus Station. Galle Railway Station is a 5-minute drive away while Galle Town is 1.9 mi from the resort. It takes approximately 2 hours to drive to Bandaranaike International Airport.
Furnished with artworks and wood flooring, each air-conditioned room and suite comes with a flat-screen satellite TV, mini-bar and safe. Private bathroom has a spa bath, rain shower, bathrobes and slippers. Guests can expect a fruit basket upon arrival, pillow menu and free Wi-Fi.

+: pool rooms were very tried . Fire alarms going off in the middle of the night most sun beds broken and need replacing not good value for money as the gardens were in poor condition

+: The staff were so lovely, every single one of them. Helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. The outlook onto the little beach was lovely. Seeing the fisherman bring their haul in further along the beach was so interesting. The bed was very comfortable. Enjoyed playing pool

-: Personal an der Rezeption sehr unfreundlich und generell hat man das Gefühl dass alle sehr geldorientiert statt kundenorientiert waren.Preis-Leistungsverhältnis überhaupt nicht angemessen. Der Strand lädt nicht zum Baden ein. Mehrere Gekos im Zimmer gehabt, aber immerhin wurde dies nach Aufforderung behoben.Die Kreditkarte wird vor Anreise belastet, trotzdem muss man bei Ankunft nochmal eine Zahlung leisten um die "Karte zu verifizieren". Obwohl das Hotel auf booking angibt, dass die Bezahlung in US Dollar erfolgt, wird die Kreditkarte in lokaler Währung belastet mit einem extrem schlechten Wechselkurs. Dadurch keine Kontrolle über den tatsächlichen Preis der Buchung.

+: Friendly staff, a comfortable bedroom and clean.
-: The public areas lacked character and the sunbeds were uncomfortable. There seemed to be a focus on getting us to pay for extras at every opportunity. On arrival, we were asked to choose our breakfast options for the whole stay, with the default being the ‘full menu’ options which were much more expensive than individual items.Some staff were trying too hard to please. Overall, the property lacked the Sri Lankan charm that we had enjoyed elsewhere on our trip.
