Enjoying views of Tissa Lake from all its modern rooms, The Safari is located in Tissamaharama. A 20-minute drive from Yala National Park, it has an outdoor pool with lake view and free Wi-Fi.
Decorated in warm shades of brown, the air-conditioned rooms are equipped with a flat-screen satellite TV and rainshower facilities. Each also comes with a personal safe and mini-bar.
The Safari is a 6-hour drive from Bandaranaike International Airport. Free parking is provided on-site.
Guests can get daily newspapers or exchange foreign currency at the 24-hour front desk. The hotel also provides laundry and dry cleaning services.

+: Het personeel was fantastisch! Ze hebben ons goed geholpen toen de airconditioning het niet meer deed. Er zaten een paar kakkerlakken op de kamer die ze direct hebben weggehaald. Alles was schoon, bed lag lekker. Heel fijn zwembad met een prachtig uitzicht op het meer. Ontbijt was goed en er werd een ontbijtpakketje klaargezet toen we om 5 uur aan onze safari begonnen.
-: Het hotel lijkt van buiten super luxe maar is in werkelijkheid een beetje vergane glorie. De verf is afgebladderd, er zitten scheuren in de muur en overal zijn vocht- en schimmelplekken.

+: Wonderful quiet location on the lake.
-: All looking rather tired. Some mould around bathroom tiles.Staff spoke little English which led to confusion in the restaurant - no signs differentiating between 4 separately plated similar dark brown breadscakes @ breakfast. A simple sign on each would have helped as staff unable to understand.

+: We had one night here, we arrived early afternoon, checked in and went on a Safari. The hotel is located on the lake, very beautiful room. The room is nice and clean, big bathroom. The swimmingpool is also very nice. When we arrived back from our Safari, the AC was leaking so they changed us to another room and we got a suite which was really nice. Food is good, breakfast is okay, but they do make fresh omelett which was good. The next day we relaxed by the pool before check out and also experienced waterbuffaloes swimming in the lake to the hotel area which was very funny! Would definately come back to this hotel if I visit the nationalpark again, a very good value for money!
