One of the best choices made by us in the city of Bentota. The beach can be reached in just 1 minute. Hotel Wunderbar is located near the beach of Bentota. A turtle farm and an outdoor pool are on site. It offers a variety of water sports facilities and an Ayurvedic massage. To the banks of the river Bentota - 5 minutes. Free Wi-Fi is available in the lobby.
The hotel offers brightly decorated rooms with air conditioning, wooden furniture and a balcony. A satellite TV and minibar are also included. The bathroom has a hot shower.
Hotel Wunderbar is just 800 meters from the city of Bentota and 3 hours drive from Colombo International Airport. On-site parking is free.
Day trips to the elephant shelter, the St. Clair Falls or tea plantations can be arranged at the tour desk. The beach offers water skiing, beach volleyball and windsurfing.
The hotel’s Caribbean-style restaurant serves European and local dishes. The hotel also has a bar serving a variety of drinks.

+: The size of the room and the fact it had a fan and aircon worked well to keep the room cool. How close it was to the beach. That Amal Villa was next door as they did lovely food and drinks. Dilly the Tuk Tuk driver was very nice and friendly.
-: Gardens and decor looked tired and in need of TLC. Breakfast was basic. That staff kept asking us whether we wanted a tour or boat trip whilst we were eating. Wifi only worked in the reception area. Ripped bedding. The beach facilities, broken sun loungers and parasols with ripped lounger cushions and the towels looked old as they were fraying. There were not enough sun loungers near the swimming pool for everyone to use. Unable to get a drink after 10pm

+: Lovely natural surroundings with reception area with the best WIFI connection, 20m pool area, large restaurant and dining area with a lovely view of the beach in the distance with a spectacular view of the train track passing right in front of the restaurant. Well equipped comfortable, clean rooms with great AC and ceiling fans with balcony and hot water. Can’t go wrong with the lovely Sri Lankan staff to facilitate anything you need. Very quiet spot right on Bentota Beach with a long beach. You also have cushions and towels available on the beach loungers where you can also order drinks and food from the beach. If you want surfing or paramotrgliding it’s not far either, or of course the hotel can arrange a tuk-tuk for you to check out the local spots around town.

+: Excellent location with very attentive, helpful and pleasant staff. Rooms are large and kept clean and the staff do everything they can to help guests and make the stay a happy and memorable experience.
-: The WiFi connection can be weak and only operates in the hotel lobby or the room balcony.
