One of the best choices made by us in the city of Bentota. The beach can be reached in just 1 minute. Hotel Wunderbar is located near the beach of Bentota. A turtle farm and an outdoor pool are on site. It offers a variety of water sports facilities and an Ayurvedic massage. To the banks of the river Bentota - 5 minutes. Free Wi-Fi is available in the lobby.
The hotel offers brightly decorated rooms with air conditioning, wooden furniture and a balcony. A satellite TV and minibar are also included. The bathroom has a hot shower.
Hotel Wunderbar is just 800 meters from the city of Bentota and 3 hours drive from Colombo International Airport. On-site parking is free.
Day trips to the elephant shelter, the St. Clair Falls or tea plantations can be arranged at the tour desk. The beach offers water skiing, beach volleyball and windsurfing.
The hotel’s Caribbean-style restaurant serves European and local dishes. The hotel also has a bar serving a variety of drinks.

-: Die Sauberkeit. Das WC wie auch das Waschbecken werden nur ober herum geputzt. An den Fliesen oder Lichtschaltern ist der Schmutz von vielen Touristen. In den Badezimmerschränken oder Spiegel hinterlässt der Holzwurm seine Spuren. Die Raumbeleuchtung, es ist zu dunkel. Die Lage am Bahngleis.Der 1. Zug fährt um 5.00 Uhr.

+: The hotel is right beside the beach and sun loungers, parasols and towels are available. There is a decent pool.The food selection was good - we had half board and there was plenty of variety. We enjoyed the sight of the trains passing as we were eating. The railway line runs through the hotel gardens, but this is not too intrusive - there are not many trains, especially during the night.The staff are great - very friendly and helpful.The room was large and the bed was comfortable.The tours we took from the hotel were very interesting and enjoyable.
-: The plumbing - especially the shower water pressure which was low. A minor issue.We would have preferred to seek out drivers and tour organisers rather than be approached all the time. Having said that, the service we got was good on the tours we chose.
