+: We don't normally like resorts and tend to prefer smaller boutique hotels - but Shangri La does an exceptional job of feeling spread out and not over crowded, and from start to finish we were provided exceptional service from every member of staff and made us feel incredibly taken care of. The grounds and facilities are gorgeous, somehow one of the most bug-free places we stayed on the island, and we really appreciated that so many of the services were included at no cost - water on the beach, kayak and paddle boards in the lagoon, boats to the private island, little surprise ice creams by the pool, roaming musicians playing requests - they just do an excellent job of making you feel like they want to make the experience worth it and there was no hidden costs every time we wanted to do something. Food was great in all the restaurants and they offed gluten free options regularly to my wife who is coeliac. An exceptional place to stay!
-: The a la carte restaurants are on the small side, which is great to not feel over crowded and resorty once you're in them, but they can be booked up a couple days ahead so recommend booking early.
