+: We upgraded to Nikté and we had a wonderful and personalized attention by our concierge Emmanuel Baraza. He changed our minibar to have only the 3-4 kind of drinks we needed for our family of 4. He would come into the room when we were out to set up games for our boys (5 and 7 years old) a couple of days, he also brought another day a nice artisan handmade Mexican style backpack for each with a small kids and environment friendly sunscreen and insect repellent. Another day, he left 1 stuff animal (axolotls) for each kid with information about such an unique animal who lives only in a certain area in México. Also, we had a visit to an open and a close cenote with our upgrade and was THE BEST activity to do with our kids. There, we cliff jumped to the cenote and go down to it in a zipline. It was REALLY FUN!
-: There was no AC anywhere. The funny part is that when we asked about it, the staff said the AC was running and the temperature was fine. LOL. I love hot weather, and I handle it well, but the truth is that many guests (and my 7-year-old and my husband included) ate in the restaurants at the resort with t-shirts soaked with sweat. My husband did not like to be sweating everywhere in the resort (except for the area of the elevators on each floor and the rooms). We did not enjoy much else, but we kind of understand that it happens: there are a huge number of Coatíes living in the resort, mostly on roofs, under bushes, and also under the Balinese beds around the pool. They are a type of raccoon that would eat anything you leave by your towels for a second. As soon as you look to the other way, they would jump and eat it. You literally could not order food at the pool and stop eating for a bit and go swim at the pool. I saw coatíes going into beach bags and purses too if they happened to smell something that may be food. It was funny at first but annoying when you had some fruit to snack on here and there while swimming and they would constantly steal it.

+: The staff are very friendly, especially Joel, the waiter in the Naos buffet. The pools are nice and friendly, not crowded, and they allow you to eat and drink in the pool.
-: The hotel is not as good as it was a few years ago and everything requires an update. They charge $20 per hour for a late checkout. Visitors from outside are not allowed to visit you, even if it's just to sit and talk. One of my friends came to visit and they treated her poorly, making it difficult for her to leave. The maintenance is okay but not great. We had a room with a connected door to another room with a very noisy family, which made it feel like they were in our room. Make sure you don't have any connected door. The food is okay; you won't be hungry, but don't expect chef restaurant-level quality.
