+: Biyukukung suites and spa is a beautiful oasis with a authentic working rice field as a center point of it's main attraction. When you stay in the property, you get a sense and whiff of how Ubud used to look like 30 years ago, prior eat pray love craze, without having to go to tegalalang area in North ubud. The staffs are excellent and friendly, maintain the rooms superbly, and they cook the breakfast and dinner menu fantastically. I love the fact that they have 3 different swimming pools, two which are next to the rice fields. The farmer will wake you up 6 am in the morning and give you a sense of how it feels to work on a rice field. A great experience in my opinion, especially to those who never grew up seeing how a rice field work looks like. There is also an industrious yoga teacher training program that ran a whole year. every moth they ran 1 200 hours ytt that completed within 20 days, so, you can watch also how some people training to be a yoga teacher while you staying at the property. You can also enjoy the swimming pools, although in some mornings, families with small children probably will take up your space in the pool due to the lack of direction from the property manager when people checking in.
-: I didn't appreciate the lack of clarity between the room rates and the pictures they provide of the properties. Confusing! When i asked to stay in a specific room in the property, they asked me to pay more, as the room I have paid does not have the view that i would like to have. To me it felt a bit of trickery going on there to make extra bit of ££.On another point, I also asked specifically about the bathroom drainage problem that other guests have already pointed out in their reviews, lo and behold, my bathroom was also congested for the last 1.5 days of staying in the property. It felt a bit disgusting the last day to take a shower there, as the water just not drained and filled with my used shampoo and soapy water, so i took my shower in yoga barn instead. The yoga shala only useable for yoga teacher training, so I can't do my own yoga routine there. It is a good thing that yoga barn is only 10 - 15 minutes walking distance away to have my yoga classes. The usage of swimming pools are also a bit problematic for me. As there are 3 swimming pools, but somehow, it seemed that families with small children preferred a specific smaller swimming pool next to one of the restaurant, and leave the area dirty after they left. I think family with small children should be allocated to the bigger swimming pool next to the concierge, as it is not as deep as the small swimming pool imho, just in case of health and safety. If there's something happened to the small child, to get to the concierge for emergency help, they have to either move around the property which is a bit of a hike up and down rice field or walk across rice field, both paths can be slippery and hard to reach fast in case of medical emergency. ( I think about the risk of epilepsy in small children ).
