+: The staff is above and beyond expectations. Service-oriented, polite and kind. Remembered my name and my daughters name from the get-go. Loved the personnel‘s attitude. The hotel and its grounds are full of art, clean and well-kept. Impeccable cleaning and room service.
-: Really nothing. Sometimes the inexperience of bartenders in the Naga bar made me smile. But I’m sure they‘ll improve with practice (they‘re non-drinkers after all).

+: From the moment you step in hotel, you'd feel welcomed by the hotel stuff. Most stuff can have a basic English conversation and understand your needs and willing to help in their best capacity. Each time when I walk pass a stuff member, they would greet you with smile. The stuff members are great assets for this hotel that make you feel like a 5 star hotel with good customer service. I guess I can comment on this as I had spend some time traveling in Japan prior my stay in this hotel and they had made me feel welcomed. Some stuff are less experience than others, I believe that hotel has training for stuff members but you could tell some are lacking confident then others. The one the sees me daily could even remember my name, that's great for sole traveller :) I stayed for 5 nights, gave me the opportunity to learn about the buffet breakfast menu each day. Most of the food stay the same each day. Bakery and Indian food are more popular than other options, it could be great to see creative dishes and dessert combined with local crusine. I enjoyed that 1 small piece of local sweet cake or rice wrapped in banana leaf in the bakery session each day. Hotel has the mentally to save energy and waste impact on earth, but house keeping still mop the floor, make your bed, and a general clean of your room which I appreciate it alot. The room stayed clean with no pest issue. Also enjoy the free activities each day provided by the hotel.
-: The facilities in hotel could tell its aging. The 3rd floor swimming pool has a nice view with greens, trees and river. However, some tiles inside the pool are loosening and it can be a safe hazard for children and potential a liability issue for the hotel Some linens, towel, pillow cover, bedsheet have very small holes, which I didn't mind but maybe worth to consider to change to a new batch giving it's a five star hotel. Food is great, but as a foodie, I expect higher quality in a 5 star hotel, I choose the same thing each day such as black coffee, baked beans etc. It could be great if the food can stay more consistent and the baked bean is sad, I had only truly liked the baked bean once during my stay, other time, not quiet the same. Hotel tried to provide Western style breakfast options, but I believe the kitchen chefs maybe can surprise the guests better with cooking local crusine. the noodle bar with instant noodles is great to get to try what local eats for breakfast.

-: Quite far out from Ubud Central but it’s ok since they have a daily shuttle bus that brings you to Ubud Cental and also fetch you back.
