+: We loved everything about The Last House. The food was the best we had on our entire trip and the menu had lots of seafood and salads. The design of the place was incredible (as we’d come to expect from Bawa) and everything looked very high and and was immaculately taken care of. We were catered to as if we were their only guests (we were not!). The staff even set up a romantic dinner for us on the beach. The location is great as it’s quiet but not remote or too far off. With that said, we ate outside of The Last House only once during our 4 day stay as the food was just so incredible.

-: Our only regret was that we didn’t stay longer. We even tried to rearrange our next stop so we could extend our stay but unfortunately the next hotel wouldn’t let us.

+: If you like it quiet, this is a good place. Small, quiet and quite private.

-: There was no real seating in our room, just a large vintage daybed, which wasn't comfortable for sitting

+: The most secluded hotel I've ever stayed in without even a signpost, and that enhances the distinct private magic, with its five mysterious rooms combing comfort and nature so that every vista is uplifting. I loved the birds bobbing their fine long tails outside my open shutters, the monitor lizard flashing its tongue, the verdigris gate out to our private empty beach of white sand. Sublime food, especially the dinner on the beach surrounded by flaming torches.

+: Incredible place to stay, remote in a good way, beautiful beach. Would definitely stay again

-: The only small comment is that even after an explanation by the staff operating the indoor shower was challenging, but there was an outdoor shower

+: A highlight of our honeymoon. The Last House is a real hidden gem on the south coast of Sri Lanka. Tim and his team were so welcoming and friendly, every detail was thought of to make our time there feel as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. The building was fantastic, surrounded by wild flowers and perfectly framed views at each turn. The location was idyllic - strolling along the pristine beach or watching monkeys play in the garden. Candlelit dinner on the beach was absolutely brilliant. Hopefully we will be back for our golden wedding anniversary…

+: Everything was excellent! The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The common areas were beautifully decorated and plenty of room to relax. We loved the outdoor showers and the bathroom was large, with an open shower. There was a private patio area opening to the green space between the property and the beach which was nice. The room was in the ground level but the breeze was slight. There is AC which was a necessity! The food was some of the best we had in Sri Lanka! The menu was extensive and delicious. The staff was superb, catering to every need we had including arranging driver to Ella. The location was amazing, just steps away from the Mawella Beach which was deserted and quiet. Thank you for the beautiful stay!
