+: It was obvious that the staff work very long hours but that didn't stop them being friendly and very helpful. The room had everything we needed and the balcony overlooking the pool was a really nice feature. The pool itself is a good size and in keeping with the rest of the hotel, everything was spotless. The food at the hotel was also good. They don't push the restaurant in an evening which isn't a negative, most are out and about exploring. The location was a big selling point for use, very close to the seafront and in a nice setting on the canal.
-: There was only one slight negative and this is out of the control of the hotel. There are a couple of bars that play music very loudly in the evening. I wouldn't let this worry you or lead you to look at somewhere else. As we found, we're generally out and about when the music starts and when we return, we catch the tail end. The bars are regulated so the music suddenly shuts off and peace returns. In a morning and during the day it is ever so peaceful, it's a few hours in the evening and for the majority, not an issue. Over the 89 days of our stay I think it got quieter, we had no issues sleeping. I can't see those bars surviving for long, the noise only appeals to a small minority and they seemed to be virtually empty. Bars just around the corner were full.
