+: Ellen’s Place has distinct charm, a beautiful building with equally beautiful furnishings. We upgraded our room, and wow was it spacious! We are so happy that we did select the upgrade.

+: Friendly staff, room was comfortable, facilities were good for the price. Room was a decent size.

-: Night light for the lamp on the bedside table would have been nice.

+: I liked the ambience of the hotel overall. The rooms were big and the interior was very calming. The location is also good as it was not difficult to travel to from the hotel.

-: I did not like the fact that they did not clean our room. On the 1st day we pressed the button assigned to clean the room. But when we came back it was not cleaned. The bathroom had a shower which was not fully covered. So the whole shower was filled with leaf and branches falling from the tree. Every time we had to shower, we had to first wash the debris off the floor. The sofas inside the room were not cleaned as upon check-in when we sat on the sofa there were hair all over the sofa. So we did not use that sofa during our stay.

+: Nice hotel, professionally run, good service...excellent rooms, good food but location not so much. A lot of very expensive and rubbish restaurants in the area...good spot for quiet stay. My wife and I will be back when in Colombo

+: The staff go over and above. Nothing is too much trouble. They are so helpful and the service is very personal but professional. The ambience is lovely with the tropical plant courtyard and temple flower flanked swimming pool. We loved the food, especially the wonderful Sri Lankan breakfast and the rice and curry.

-: Water ingression on one wallof our bedroom but we understand that this was recent and that they are closing the room to deal with it. This is my second visit and I love it.
