+: Rooms are big.

+: It was value for money. Staff was cooperative and pleasant.

-: Pool was not temperature controlled. There were so many small ants in the room.

+: It was very cheap

-: This is a hard review to write. I spent my last day in Sri Lanka here and had a bad experience. Lying down naked in a towel in bed, I noticed a man was peeking through a small gap in the window blind. Upon making eye contact, the person ran and my friend reported this to the hotel manager. Four men came to the room door and asked me questions about what had happened, asking what he looked like and my friend requested they simply check the CCTV.At first, they seemed a little reluctant and told me how trustworthy their staff are and that no one could have broken into the hotel as the door was locked. They told me I’m completely safe there and that I should just go to sleep, despite me saying I didn’t feel safe. They offered a different room, which I didn’t understand. A young worker then got his phone out and said he can access footage from his phone. It was taking a while to check CCTV as the footage was split into multiple clips, so they said they will watch it and return in the morning with an update.Upon return, they told us the camera facing our room door was not working which I believe to not be true as the young man initially checking CCTV showed us the hallway needed to see this. They said the only person they could see in a stairwell via CCTV was my friend which was untrue because there were multiple staff members around the hotel at that time.I felt they only wanted to defend their staff, rather than asking what would make me and my friends feel more safe. They didn’t offer anything else to remedy the situation and asked for a good review many times.Upon departure, I felt completely hounded by multiple men asking me to leave a good review and asking me to scan a QR code as I was already walking away. They cared so much more for a good review than how I was feeling and my safety. If they had asked, I would have told them I felt violated, disrespected and unsafe.My two friends left for their flights at 6am and then I locked and blocked the door.

+: The Hotel has run down. I have been before covid19 several times. But now the new management doesn't know what is happening in the property. Only they wanted the payment as soon checking in. There is a lot to improve in the property. In the night there are not many lights. There are few staff trying their best to make the guest happy, and there are few staff who are totally not capable of handling it.

-: The first impression as you entered the hotel was 0. The reception guy was clueless and gave a room on first floor room #12, not clean, full of dust, AC was not working properly, and 1 fan was not working. No bathroom mats , no soap, no toilet papers in that room totally mess. After complaining. The staff change the room 2 hrs later to a reception area 5th floor room. That was a clean, big room with a sitting area and a pantry . As a person who travels, I don't recommend St. Lachlain, as their standards are gone down.

+: Swimming pool was next my room and my daughter was very happy for that it was amazing experience

-: Only one door entrance was opend and map show us the other door and team asked us to come from the other entrance first impression is bad

+: Very good hotel

-: Lights were not working
