+: Nice little boutique hotel. The room was comfortable and a good size and the onsite Japanese restaurant was excellent. The roof terrace with bar was lovely and romantic in the evening. Special thanks to Nuwan for going out of his way to ensure that we were happy, comfortable and had everything that we needed.

+: The breakfast was great but the staff was wonderful, especially Rashdeen, the front desk attendant. He went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed, to include TUK TUK and dinner reservations! I will definitely be back, especially if Rashdeen is working!

+: Boutique hotel, small, not too many rooms, so do not expect the extended services and choices larger hotel chains can offer. The Japanese restaurant was great and offers a variety enough for more than a couple of days dining.
-: My room was close to the downstairs restaurant, breakfast room. There had live music one night (Thursday), so I was not able to have an early and quiet night.... In the end, the music ended at 23;30 hrs which wasn't too bad.... But I guess for people that wanted an earlier bedtime, this could have been a problem!

+: Staying here was like a little zen oasis from the bustling city around it. The hotel is clean, calm and well appointed. The food was delicious and the room felt l like a big early 1900s Spanish apartment. Special shout out to Rashdeen at the front desk tho really went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and happy with my stay. This young man helped me sort out my laundry on one of the biggest holidays of the year in Sri Lanka, and he saw it through even on his day off. I expect that he will be managing fine hotels like Zylan in the future. He really saved me a lot of trouble, and I did not expect this from him, or any staff in general. Next time I’m in Colombo I will definately come back mostly due to the excellent service from the staff.
