+: I was really looked after. The staff were friendly and helpful. Very central location. Great breakfast. Overall the accommodation is good value and I highly recommend it to anyone who is planning a stay at Stonetown.

-: I did have to be careful with the stairs as the staircase is quite high and steep. It may not be suitable for elderly.

Special mention to Hisham at the front desk, whose exceptional assistance in arranging affordable transportation for our excursion to the north was greatly appreciated. From the prime location to the outstanding hospitality, Al Johari Hotel exceeds expectations, making it the perfect choice for travelers seeking a memorable stay in Zanzibar.

-: The place is over sold on Booking.com. the location is completely different from how it is perceived on Booking.com.

+: Mr Behera, the owner of this hotel, treated me like family during my stay here. So much so that I extended my stay from 1 week, to 3 weeks. From offering me his motorbike, to preparing special lunches for us both, you couldn't ask for a more hospitable person. The views from the hotel's top floor are amazing, and the location is absolutely ideal. I'll definitely be back in Stone Town in the future, and I'll definitely be staying here again.
