The Pension Strauss is located on the sunny side of Bad Gastein. All rooms have a balcony and have a fantastic panoramic view over the entire Gastein Valley. Free WiFi is available throughout the guesthouse. There is a small bistro on the ground floor, where you can enjoy small dishes and pizzas at very reasonable prices in the evening. The pension is located directly at the foot of the Graukogel, you can walk to the lifts there in 5-10 minutes. The ski bus stop, which takes you to the Stubnerkogel ski area (3 stops), is also only a 5-minute walk away. The Kaiser Wilhelm Promenade runs directly below the pension, a wonderful promenade with a wonderful view of the Gastein Valley, where the European aristocracy used to go for a walk during their summer holidays in Bad Gastein. Parking spaces (subject to availability) are available free of charge at the hotel. The Pension Strauss is a very affordable alternative to the large grand hotels in Bad Gastein, with the advantage of a magnificent panorama of the Gastein mountains.

+: The host was very friendly, and the accomodation is in good correlation with the cost. The location is very good, the rooms have nice panorama. It has parking place for the cars on the property.
-: Although it has an elevator inside the building, the first floor (or ground floor) is a few steps above the ground, so you have to climb up anyway. Not a big problem. We could enjoy somewhat warmer rooms.

+: The location of Pension strauss is 1.5 km away from the bad gastein zentrum. It's a 15-minute walk from the Bad Gastein HBF. There are two ways to reach Pension Strauss: one is through the main road, and the other way goes downwards via the waterfall (recommended).You can get a beautiful view of the valley from the balcony of pension strauss.We took a room with a double bed for two people. The prices were very cheap as compared with the other accommodations available in the Bad Gastein plus breakfast was included in the price.P.S. The woman named "Heidi" at the reception was very polite and helpful🙂
