+: Beautiful pool and beachfront setting. Excellent yoga teacher, Flo, needs to be mentioned! She was fabulous. Lovely location for diving as well - my partner and I went twice (to a nearby shipwreck and coral gardens), and the company that took care of us was great - I believe they are on contract with the hotel. Nice water conditions for experienced or novice divers. We also had a lovely sunset boat cruise one evening, with a great captain. We were lucky enough to see 2 schools of dolphins and several stingrays on our journey! Pool staff were also very friendly and knew my name from the first morning.
-: Unfortunately Flo only taught 1 class during our stay - there were other classes taught by other instructors spanning our stay, but in my opinion she should be the permanent resident yoga instructor. Other classes were not at all challenging or relaxing, they rather seemed to be a “fun activity” and inclusive for more guests, however I’m confused why this resort is marketed so heavily on wellness and yoga involvement etc. if that is the case…? Aside from Flo’s session, I was very disappointed in classes offered. Both my partner and I were also quite disappointed with the calibre of food and service.Even on day 5 of our stay our names weren’t remembered by restaurant staff, and every day we were asked “did you just arrive today?” Dietary requirements forgotten at every meal (bare in mind the small number of rooms, and that we sat at the same table for every meal). not many options available for those with dietary requirements either. We both felt that the food somewhat resembled that of cafeteria quality, and was certainly not good value for money in that respect even though meals were inclusive in the price we paid.Spa treatments also varied massively in quality depending on which therapist we were allocated - after a couple of the more disappointing treatments, my partner and I actually ended up passing our spa credits off to another couple we had met there for their use.Payment was not taken beforehand as it should’ve been by hotel management, either. Had we known that (this was only flagged on our last day), we would’ve cut our stay at this resort short and explored other areas of Bali.Overall, I feel this is a good location to visit for 2-3 nights, especially if you want to go diving, however I feel that a lot changed here post-covid. I’m surprised this hotel remains as a member of the Small Luxury Hotels group, as we’ve stayed at some of their other locations throughout Europe which have had 5-star amenities, food, and service.
