-: Food and extras. The letter from Booking.Com, which is with me for production when required, offered me the room at $517.00 total for the accommodation, for three days. When I arrived at the hotel, I paid $699.00 which was the amount required by the host. The difference is considerable. It does look like the marketing Company showed a reduced price to induce a sale.

+: We chose to stay here for the historic feeling and because they had twin rooms. It's a lovely place. Wonderful breakfast. The beds were comfortable and the hot water bottle was cozy. Very good service and a special care from our room boy. Garden was beautiful!
-: We couldn't eat in the restaurant because we didn't have long pants. (men) But then again, that is part of the old world charm that they keep certain standards. We found plenty of places to eat in town so it wasn't really a problem.

+: Lovely colonial hotel. Warm comfortable rooms and walking distance to town. This hotel is full of character. Pack your Sunday best for after 7pm as you’re required to dress up for dinner and the bar (men can borrow a jacket and tie). It’s all part of the charm of the hotel. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Would definitely recommend for your stay in Nuwara Eliya.

+: Food was OK but nothing special considering the hotel star rating.
-: Staff were quite strange too formal and restrictions about what to wear in each bar. Customer service was lacking from attentiveness at the bar etc. Tea way too strong and we sent it back several times. Also not hot.

+: Historical place
-: Thank you for We had a very bad experience at the hotel. Although I warned about my arrival, no one wrote that I needed to use the second gate. As a result, we stood for a long time in front of the first gate, where there was no staff. Further, the impolite staff did not want to let us in the second gate. Now about the room. It does not correspond to the description on Booking.com. Terrible view from the window of the roofs of the buildings, although the view of the garden is indicated. The hotel's deception in the room description. There are no ironing facilities. There is no seating area. There is no work desk. But there are three beds.

+: Delivered on old world British charm.
-: Tour buses (4 of them) arriving at 4.55am, stopping virtually underneath our bedroom window (literally 30 feet away) to pick up Chinese tourists. Noise and motors running for 20 minutes. Complained to SecretaryManager the next day. He was totally unapologetic and offered no form of compensation whatsoever. For UD$145 per night in Sri Lanka far, far better is expected. Other than that, service is very slow. Waited 30 minutes from time of ordering for soup to arrive. Finally, many of the wait staff have very poor English, and are poorly organised by their managers. I strongly recommend that you avoid this establishment.

+: Incredible experience in Nuwara Eliya! Good location and just nearby the famous Grand Hotel and Victoria Park and has a path to visit. Hill Club is a historical building and worth you spend one-hour to walk around and insight. Room is comfortable, breakfast is good, price-performance ratio is better than Grand Hotel as you can spend high tea and visit the garden there from Hill Club. Staff is kind and helpful. Highly Recommended!
-: None.
