Viglatoras is a traditional stone house set at the foot of Mount Psiloritis. Surrounded by farm land and forested hills, it offers agrotourism activities and has a Cretan tavern. Heraklion is 20 km away. Furnished with respect to Cretan tradition, Viglatoras maisonettes and suites have seating areas with fireplace, cool stone floors and stone-built sofas. Modern features include air conditioning and heating and equipped kitchens. Guests can enjoy Greek coffee, herbal tea and homemade pastries at the café with fireplace or the upper-floor lounge with piano. Free Wi-Fi is available in communal areas. Viglatoras guests have the opportunity to pick fruit and vegetables, watch the preparation of traditional food and pastries, or take part in weaving workshops. Several taverns serving traditional Cretan cuisine can be found in the surrounding area. There are numerous attractions within a short distance from the farm, including Byzantine churches, the famous cave of Sarhos, wine presses, raki distilleries and more. Organized tours are available on request.

+: The main house with separate apartment house hidden in the garden is peaceful, lovely, traditional and the garden very beautiful. One day we had visitors with a little girl, and it was lovely to wander with her in the garden.

+: Very kind and welcoming hosts, beautiful villa and garden (!), good shower, good prices, beautiful shady terasse under wine.
-: Make sure to have a strategy to manage the combination of hot bedrooms (esp. in apartments where the bed is upstairs) and mosquitos. Not all windows have (intact) insect screens and the AC control comes with a fee after asking (as advertised but we overlooked that and missed it the first night). Sitting area (inside) is rather decorative than comfortable.

+: la situation géographique au milieux de la campagne et la qualité du logement au milieux des oliviers dans un environnement très calme. Hôtes très très accueillants et très disponibles. Petit déjeuner parfait.
