+: This is the best and most beautiful hotel we have ever been so far.. Everyone in the hotel is extremely caring and nice, food is amazing, every restaurant is unique, the level on detail is perfect! We can’t wait to go back! +: Staff, setting, vibe, intimate size.... Wonderful beach and jungle setting. Yoga on the roof, terrific snorkeling, terrific food. Will definitely return.

-: I’ve been to several Belmond in Europe and North America, this one doesn’t meet my expectation of a Belmond. The staff were nice, but the property itself is very much sub standard for a Belmond. The building material, the furnitures, the bed, the art works looks and feels more like stuff I would find at a 3 stars hotel. Don’t even get me started on the spa! Amazing looking entrance, then it was all down hill from there! The staff were attentive and most of them Speaks English better than me speaking Spanish, unfortunately their English is not fluent enough to communicate over the phone and require 2 phone call for most of my room service request. My disappointment with this particular Belmond is not with the staff. Every Belmond I’ve been to had a few things in common: exceptional services, great location, gorgeous building, as many if not more luxurious amenities than the Ritz! Belmond Maroma is barely making the grade in term of service while it fail in all area that makes a hotel a Belmond!
