+: Loved this resort. Celebrated my 60th birthday with a group of 9-17 depending on the day and couldn’t have picked a better place. The whole staff was incredible, friendly, and helped out with the celebration dinner on our last night. The resort is beautiful and the perfect size. I don’t care for big resorts so really appreciated the bungalow accommodations. The room was beautifully decorated and clean. The toilet is typical for this area, don’t expect a powerful flush. I appreciated the no TVs in the rooms. The location in PDC was convenient to shops and restaurants. There are some beach clubs nearby but the I wasn’t bothered by any noise. The beach is not large and most of it is public but plenty of lounge chairs to use. The pools were nice and we always had great service for ordering food and drinks. I loved my stay. It made my celebration magical! Thank you Mahekal Beach Resort!

-: Only 2 restaurants but if there were more, it would have meant a larger resort which I did not want so I won’t complain.

+: The place is purely paradise

-: Toilet issues are disappointing, though help was there very quick!

+: We liked the location and the look of the hotel, the staff members are very nice and the concept of the place is successful.

-: The place is really not well maintained. The pools were really dirty, the fountain in front of our room was also really dirty. The room smelled very bad, it really stank and they explained to us that it was from the roof of the building which is straw - pulpa roof (we were not offered to move even though I explained that the room really stinks). The toilets were faulty, and even after they fixed them they were not 100%. There were nothing to protect from the sun with the sunbeds on the beach, and all the chairs were in full sun, so it was difficult to stay on the beach during the day and it's a shame.
