Built on 9 acres of gardens, AVANI Kalutara Resort (formerly Kani Lanka Resort and Spa) is located by the Kalu Ganga River. It offers an outdoor pool, a luxurious spa and free Wi-Fi. Air-conditioned guestrooms feature beautiful views of the sea, river or garden. Each room is equipped with a minibar, tea/coffee making facilities and a TV with satellite channels. Guests can rent water sports facilities, or exercise at the fitness centre. A library provides an area for quiet reading. Buffet breakfast is served at the hotel. The two restaurants serve local, Western and Asian dishes. Drinks can be enjoyed at the resort's 2 bars. AVANI Kalutara Resort is a 1 hour drive from Bandaranaike International Airport. The historic town of Kalutara is only a 10-minute drive from the resort and free parking is provided.

-: Viele Mücken. Man sollte dann aber wenigstens als Betreiber Mückennetze an den Betten anbringen bzw Mückenstecker anbieten. Nichts davon war aber der Fall. Dann ging mitten in der Nacht noch der Feueralarm los, das ist dann alles nicht so angenehm. Tuk-Tuk Fahrer hatten, wie in vielen Hotels, Durchfahrt für Uber und Taxis blockiert sodass man fast nicht weggekommen wäre.

-: Generelt for dårlig standard. Dårlig utvalg av mat og spesielt dårlig utvalgt til barn. Siste kvelden så vi en rotte på kjøkkenet til restauranten. Stranden var ikke mulig å bade fra. Standaren på hotellet tilsvarer ikke 5 stjerner.

+: Our stay at Avani hotel was quite enjoyable. Impressed by the exceptional staff service and gym facilities. The food was really good and we appreciated the unlimited water access. Additionally, the spa service was great and of course the beautiful sunsets from the beach.
-: Initially, we had some issues with the room's air conditioning system not bringing the temperature below 25C. Despite changing rooms, the problem persisted to a certain extent. Additionally, the presence of a loud event with a DJ playing excessively loud music on the first day disrupted the tranquility of the stay. The mirror in our room literarily vibrated with the bass. The crows were a bit obnoxious during breakfast around the outdoor seating, perhaps the hotel could benefit from putting up some sort of divider wall to limit their access to our food.
